I'm pleased to say that whoever advised you of this result was slightly mistaken. They allocated 354 votes to Labour when the true figure was 243. That means Aaron received 15.4% of the vote rather than 14.3%.

Also overlooked was a District election in West Lindsey for a very similar area to that in the Lincs County. UKIP had the same candidate and received 14.1% of the vote there. That was, however, only contested by UKIP, Con and LD.
www.votetalk.co.uk is an excellent resource about future by-elections and forum for discussing them. Though 'on the night' inevitable errors in results may creep in they are usually rapidly corrected. This Thursday there are UKIP candidates in Burnley & Breckland, elections in types of authorities which should always be identified there. Elections at Town/Parish level are not all mentioned but this week it has been identified there are UKIP candidates for Huntingdon and Thetford Town Councils. Good luck to all the UKIP candidates.
