Janice Atkinson MEP suspended

Janice Atkinson MEP has been suspended from the party after one of her staff was videoed allegedly trying to inflate a restaurant bill so she could claim it on expenses.

A party spokesman said:
The party is incredibly disappointed with Ms. Atkinson, who appears to have exercised extremely poor judgement in acting in a way that the party has never, and would never condone. The party has acted swiftly and immediately, and just as we showed when we suspended another MEP for financial irregularities, we always maintain a zero tolerance attitude towards acts of this nature.

My only concern is trial by media. Trial by Ukip is tainted if you ask or want to know about NW and the demise of Dr Fred McGlade without a word of explanation to membership?

Virtually all UKIP problems are caused by people who were previously members of other party's for a substantial period of time

Having pounded the pavement, knocked on thousands of doors with the message that UKIP were different to the rest of the public purse troughing limpets i was shocked to my very core to read this story. It has shaken my very belief in UKIP. Already i have had to face people who i had convinced we were different and stand there and try to defend the indefensible. IF i t turns out that Janice Atkinson is found to have consorted in this fiddle of public money i will have to seriously consider my membership of UKIP. I joined UKIP based on the belief we were different, we were challenging the old guard and like a new broom we would sweep away the filth and detritus that foul the HoC, only to find that we have the same filth in our own party and that that filth had managed to become a MEP. If found guilty UKIP now needs to make a public display of her , hang her out to dry. As for me i need to now take 24 hours to see if i want to still be part of UKIP .
