Banning EU citizens from claiming benefits would be illegal under EU law

The British government have been told by their lawyers that they can't require EU immigrants to pay into the benefits system for four years before being allowed to claim tax credits unless they also ban 18-22 year olds from claiming as well.

This latest advice echoes advice they have already been given but chose to ignore because there was an election looming. Restricting benefits for EU citizens without imposing the same restrictions on UK citizens would be illegal discrimination under EU law.

If Cameron intends to press on with plans to prevent EU immigrants from claiming benefits for four years, he will deprive around 50,000 young working UK citizens of their tax credits.

Who imagined any other outcome ,Cameron must have known full well his little stunt would be vetoed .
This was always going to be the outcome !

Maastricht all over again but on a smaller scale . The treaty of Maastricht effectively signed off state subsidy's and destroyed the NHS , Major created the PFI's , Blair created the trust's , foundations or what ever anyone wants to call them which enabled each NHS foundation to act like a company and put out rebuilding contracts under the OJEU tender process to private company's financed via PFI's which brought them under EU completion laws and has cost the British Taxpayer a fortune

Cameron and his mates in Blue and Cheap Labour are undertaking the dismantling of the British well fare state via the EU

Lets hope Corbyn wins because his policy's are in compatible with EU law and where will that leave Dave
