Plymouth Labour councillor suspended for making Nazi salute

A Plymouth Labour councillor has been suspended after making a Nazi salute to UKIP and Conservative councillors in a council meeting last night.

Cllr Jonny Morris has apologised for what he himself describes as "an inappropriate and offensive gesture" but not before someone reported it to the police as a hate crime. Devon & Cornwall Police have confirmed they are investigating it as a potential public order offence.

Cllr Morris has been suspended from the Labour group on Plymouth City Council pending an investigation into his conduct.
