UKIP is starting to receive large donations from wealthy businessmen and city workers.
Hedge fund manager Crispin Odey organised a party recently to introduce Nigel Farage to potential donors in the city - until now the natural hunting ground of the Tories. City finance types are concerned about the EU taking control of financial regulation and the prospect of the so-called Tobin tax on financial transactions which the EU wants to contribute to its "own resources" slush fund.
Several donations have been made including a £20k donation from Adrian Buckley who started Buckley Jewellery. He is concerned about personal freedoms and the size of the state so joined UKIP last year. Schroders fund manager, Andy Brough, joined UKIP a couple of weeks ago over the relentless attacks on the city by the EU and the coalition. Brough manages £1.4bn of assets for Schroders.

FOI submitted for copy of mythical EU treaty

As no details of this mysterious EU treaty that David Cameron claims to have vetoed have yet materialised and the media is ignoring the fact that he has agreed to the creation of a financial transaction tax that will be applied to financial transactions made in the UK by institutions in the UK, we have today submitted the following Freedom of Information request has been made to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office ...
No doubt the request will be rejected as a state secret or undermining the principle of collective responsibility or some other guff.
- Please provide a copy of the treaty that David Cameron is reported to have vetoed this week. If no draft treaty exists, please provide a précis of the intended purpose and contents of the proposed treaty.
- Please confirm the ratification process for the protocol change that was required for the introduction of the financial transaction tax and other measures agreed this week. Did the UK formally agree to the protocol change, was a veto available on the protocol change and which treaty was the protocol attached to?
- Please confirm which financial transactions carried out in the UK and which types of institutions in the UK will be subjected to the financial transaction tax. Approximately how many institutions in the UK will be subject to the tax, approximately what value of transactions in the UK will be subject to the tax and approximately how much financial transaction tax will be raised in the UK?

Cameron capitulates to EU over Tobin Tax in UK
The Merkozy Borg got their anti-capitalist Tobin Tax yesterday but failed in their attempt to destroy the English financial sector as it will only be implemented in the €urozone.
Wee Willy Vague actually had the nerve this morning to say that the Tories vetoed treaty change, doing what they said they would do as they always do. Like the referendum on the Lisbon Treaty that they promised and then refused. Or the referendums that they've promised for EU treaty changes or transfers of power to the EU - even backing it up with a law - and then refused on more than one occasion.
How easily the so-called eurosceptic Tories are pleased. Yesterday they were demanding a referendum and repatriation of powers from the EU, today they're congratulating their great leader on a victory for the UK. There has been no repatriation of powers and there will be no referendum. Repatriation of powers is impossible without a change to the Lisbon Treaty which the EU and Camoron have conspired to avoid to prevent a referendum in the UK.
The mythical repatriation of powers will forever remain a myth because there is no provision for taking powers off the EU under the Lisbon Treaty and because changing the Lisbon Treaty will require a referendum, the europhile Tories will never attempt to change it.
The changes that are being made to the €urozone are being facilitated by a change to a protocol attached to a treaty. Changes to protocols attached to treaties require ratification by all member states. Camoron could have vetoed it but he didn't. He has agreed to the Tobin Tax that will damage not only our economy but the whole €urozone economy and the subversion of national democracy in the €urozone.
Experts still estimate up to half a million job losses in the City though as the Tobin Tax will be inflicted on €urozone banks' operations in the UK.
Camoron is doing the rounds at the moment telling interviewers that he's rejected a deal that isn't in our interests and vetoed a treaty that wasn't in our national interest. He's done nothing of the sort, of course, because he's allowed a Tobin Tax to be imposed on banks in the UK and there was no plan to make treaty changes because Herman van Rumpy-Pumpy and the Merkozy Borg were determined to avoid a referendum in the UK. All the changes are being made to a protocol attached to the Lisbon Treaty which Camoron has agreed to.

Italian Cabinet to be 100% unelected
The EU's new man in Italy, Prætor Mario Monti, has appointed his first cabinet today.
The EU has now deposed two democratically elected leaders and installed eurocrats in their place. Lord Tebbit suggests that the EU would be quite happy to install Nick Clegg as PM here if Cameron forgets which side of his bread is buttered.
One of Angela Merkel's cronies, the nationalist socialist homophobe, Volker Kauder, says that the UK should fall into line and stop opposing the Tobin Tax which would devastate our economy. If Cameron doesn't capitulate on the Tobin Tax, will we see an attempt to overthrow the British government and install the euro extremist Clegg in his place?
Like Monti, all 17 members of the cabinet are unelected and all are academics and economists. The Italians have had a nationalist, corporatist government in living memory which didn't exactly go well yet according to an opinion poll by the Piepoli Institute, 53% of Italians support an unelected technocratic government.
