Labour leader of Wrexham council sacks councillor for raising concerns about social services

The Leader of Wrexham County Borough Council, Cllr Neil Rogers, has sacked fellow Labour councillor Malcolm King from his job as Lead Member for Policy, Finance, Performance and Governance after he raised concerns about the running of the council's social services department raised by social workers.

The timing of this sacking, just 24 hours after the release of the report into Rotherham Borough Council's facilitation of rape and abuse of 1,400 vulnerable children, is frankly astonishing. Cllr King has previously uncovered details of historic child abuse in Wrexham and his concerns - especially if raised by social workers - should certainly be listened to.

Do these people never learn?
