Labour mayor of Haringey brought office into disrepute

The Labour mayor of Haringey has been found guilty of bringing her office into disrepute after using her position for personal gain.

Cllr Sheila Peacock was investigated by the council's standards committee after sending two personal letters on council headed paper by email and using her mayor title.

The Lib Dems are calling for the mayor to resign, saying it is not tenable for her to stay in her position and that she should resign for the good of the office and the borough.

Meanwhile, Haringey Labour have criticised the Lib Dems after finding that 6 of their 27 candidates in the upcoming local elections don't even live in the borough.
