UKIP win Doncaster by-election

UKIP candidate Paul Bissett has taken a second seat on Doncaster Council in a by-election yesterday, beating the Labour candidate by 94 votes.

Paul joins UKIP councillor Fred Gee in representing the Edenthorpe, Kirk Sandall & Barnby Dun on Doncaster Council.

The Doncaster Branch of UKIP criticised the Labour Party for playing silly political games that have caused unnecessary expense for the taxpayers of Doncaster. The outgoing Labour councillor said they wanted to resign in January but stayed on for another 6 months to avoid losing the seat to UKIP in the May elections.
