Cllr Jonny Morris has apologised for what he himself describes as "an inappropriate and offensive gesture" but not before someone reported it to the police as a hate crime. Devon & Cornwall Police have confirmed they are investigating it as a potential public order offence.
Cllr Morris has been suspended from the Labour group on Plymouth City Council pending an investigation into his conduct.
A Thanet Labour councillor and magistrate has been forced to apologise after it emerged that she had sold charitable donations to fund her election campaign.
Cosmetics company Lush gave 100 tons of cosmetics and beauty products to a charity called the Kindness Offensive to be given directly to the homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged. They expressly forbade the sale of any of the products, even if the proceeds were to go to charity. Some of the cosmetics were handed over to a charity shop called Food for All who then handed them over to Cllr Karen Constantine to sell for Labour Party funds.
Charities are not allowed to make political donations and candidates are not allowed to accept them. They have both broken the law.
Cllr Constantine says that when she found out that she had unwittingly sold products donated to charity she made arrangements for the proceeds to be donated to a charity. She claims that she didn't know they were intended for charity and not the Labour Party but she collected them from a charity shop. A charity shop. What else were they going to be in a charity shop other than donations to charity?
Cllr Constantine's apology is meaningless when she continues to claim that she didn't know donations to a charity shop were donations to charity. If she won't admit that she basically stole from charity - at the very least in a moral sense, if not a legal one - then she clearly isn't sorry. She should do the honourable thing and resign. The Charity Commission also need to launch an investigation into the political activities being carried out at this charity and ban any trustees involved in the illegal political donations or any other political campaigning.

Having overseen a man imprisoned and dying over 'bacon on a mosque', and not acted on the rapes of 1400 little girls by a 'muslim community' - she now leads 'anti terrorism'.
Tyrants do not gain and keep power just by their own efforts - it requires a set of overwhelming circumstances that make their authority all but enevitable, often despite thier own actions. Tyrants come to power because it seems there could have been no other way.
Theresa May has been in government since the first days of the Conservative rule - first in coalition with the now defunct Liberal Democrat party from 2010, and then as a Conservative only administration since 2015. Before she became Prime Minister in 2016 (following David Camerons ignoble rush from office once his Brexit referendum went against him) she had been Home Secretary, one of the Great Offices of State.
As Home Secretary Theresa May had an long record of repeated failures on many projects but sometimes with an eventual success. For instance, taking many, many years and costing many millions of pounds to deport terrorist. Among some she had a reputation for doing, very, very little and doing it very, very slowly - often put down to a 'control freak' streak of wanting to consider every single possibility and doing so personally.
Theresa May's most notable failure was on migration for which she was responsible as Home Secretary. All through her tenure she made speeches saying that migration to the UK was too high by orders of magnitude (it was hundreds of thousands and should at most be tens of thousands), and on each occasion giving guarantees that she would fix the issue and had plans and tools in place. Of course on each occasion she failed to fix the issue, migration figures growing ever higher in just about every year she has been in government.
Her dishonesty is highlighted by her later admission that she could not control EU migration while the UK remained a member of the EU (so she had knowingly been lying when she promised to reduce the figures), but worse even the non-EU migration figures (of which she did have control) rose under her rule. So she lied about what she could do and then lied about what she actually did too as well. To compound this all, when the EU referendum was called she declared her support for remaining in the EU - so wanting to ensure that she never could control migation to the UK.
That Theresa May a plodding, single threaded operator who has failed and lied and wanted to remain in the EU, that she has become the Prime Minister to lead the UK out of the EU is a demonstration of the 'circumstances' I referred to at the start of this piece. Looked at without prejudice she would be one of the last people suited to this job, but somehow has taken it.
Other marks of her tyranical streak are given in relation her support for Big Governemnt Socialism and her position on Human Rights.
As the leader of the 'Conservative' party, she got plaudits for calling for Big Government intervention in social issues - the antithisis of everything that a Conservative would appear to want. That she could not only say this, but get her party cheering her for it is another demonstration of the 'circumstances' I referred to at the start.
For Theresa May's record on human rights, one demonstration is her 'snoopers charter', - It is to long to examine fully here (do a websearch for it) but it makes ISP's responsible for recording all of their uses internet activity (your activity) and then gives just about every civil servant access to those records on demand - so don't go upsetting any state bod, they have access to it all. While such officiousness is more typically Conservative, the additional budern of the admin and its cost is not.
Also on human rights, and more seriously, Theresa May is planning on taking it upon herself to withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights, and implement a British Bill of Rights. This is wrong headed on many levels:
Firstly the ECHR is designed to protect the public from an over-reaching government, clearly we cannot trust the government to protect us from itself - it would never consider its own actions wrong, so would never act against itself to protect us, this rules out the government writing any replacement and rules teh government out of administering any replacement.
Secondly, the British way is not to give people rights/permission, it is for individuals to be free and for the Government to be restrained - a bill of rights should (like the American Constitution) set out what government is permitted to do (starting from an assumption of nothing), not what people are permitted to do, so banning anything not specifically permitted.
But despite all this Theresa May is riding high in the polls - she is more trusted (by quite a way) than any alternative - this is where Tyranny comes from.
An independent UK is at risk of being led by a leader as bad, nast, officious and authoritarian as De Valera was in taking on an independent southern Ireland, and the SNP would be taking on an independent Scotland.
The father of the house, Labour MP Sir Gerald Kaufman, has died aged 86.
After a number of failed attempts Kaufman was elected as MP for Manchester Ardwick in 1970 and held the seat until it was abolished in 1983 when he won the seat of Manchester Gorton.
Kaufman was a member of the Labour Jewish movement but was a vociferous critic of the Israeli government's occupation of Palestine and its treatment of Palestinians.
Labour has a massive majority in Manchester Gorton with Kaufman increasing his vote share by 17% at the last election. This big Remain-voting seat will be way down UKIP's target list but with local and mayoral elections being held in May there is likely to be a very long by-election campaign to educate voters.
UKIP's candidate for Manchester's metro-mayor, Shneur Odze, has been told by Lib Dem candidate Cllr Jane Brophy that he shouldn't be allowed to be a candidate because he's an Orthodox Jew.
Cllr Brophy took issue with the fact that Odze is unable to shake the hand of a woman due to his observation of Orthodox Judaism. She told a hustings that he was unsuitable for the mayoralty because of his religion.
It is an unusual religious observance in this country but it is a religious observance nonetheless. If Cllr Brophy was invited to the local mosque would she refuse to cover herself up? If she was invited to a gurdwara would she sit on the men's side of the Diwan Hall? Of course she wouldn't. So what is it that makes those religious requirements something she can tolerate but not Shneur Odze's?
If politicians are going to allow someone's religion to influence their morals then they need to be consistent. You either respect all religious intolerances or none of them.
UKIP's second largest donor, Aaron Banks, has made yet another threat to stop supporting UKIP if he doesn't get his own way. This time he wants to be made Chairman so he kick Douglas Carswell and others who disagree with him out of the party.
Banks hasn't made a cash donation to UKIP for 3 years and according to Paul Nuttall last week he isn't even a member of the party yet he still thinks he can use his money to try and get his own way. If he wanted a say in how the party is run he should have stood for election to the NEC.
Should donors be allowed to rewarded with influential positions in the party?
A fifth Spelthorne Borough Councillor has defected to UKIP following Thursday's defection of four other councillors.
Cllr Kevin Flurry joined UKIP yesterday after the Conservative group leader kicked him out of their group. He becomes the fifth member of the new official opposition UKIP group on Spelthorne Borough Council.
Conservative councillors Denise Saliagopoulos and Joanne Sexton and independent councillors Quentin Edginton and Penny Forbes-Forsyth used Thursday's council meeting to make their announcements and laid the blame squarely at the feet of the Conservatives.
We cannot tolerate the way in which Spelthorne Borough Council is now being governed by the Conservatives, which we consider to be undemocratic, lacking in transparency and against the interests of our residents.
Two Colwyn Bay Conservative councillors have defected to UKIP.
Cllrs David and Lindsay Griffiths currently represent the Llandrillo yn Rhos and Eirias wards on Colwyn Bay Town Council but defected to UKIP this week. They said they were impressed by the determination and ambition of UKIP and how members are more involved in the local party.
Both councillors will contest Conwy County Borough Council seats in May for UKIP.
Steve Uncles invented people to put forward as candidates for the 2013 local elections, even writing up fictitious personal profiles for them. When he was caught he made up a story about it being a plot by UKIP to discredit him. As well as making people up he forged signatures for people who do exist.
He has been granted conditional bail with a curfew and told to put his affairs in good order because he's probably going to prison.
The multinational aerospace company is also building a £100m facility at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland as part of a £5bn contract to service the RAF's fleet of Apache helicopters.
In March last year Boeing committed to locating its new European headquarters in London regardless of the outcome of the referendum.
The discount retailer is moving its Scottish headquarters from Livingston in West Lothian along with 400 existing jobs to the Eurocentral industrial estate in Holytown.
Labour retained Stoke Central and the Conservatives gained Copeland in yesterday's by-elections.
The Labour vote held up despite a low turnout for postal votes and their candidate being a misogynistic Remoaner with anger issues. The illegal religious campaigning by muslim Labour supporters will have helped no end, as will the campaigning by the trade unions who have offices in Stoke. But the biggest two factors are probably the terrible weather discouraging voters from turning out on the day and the dirty tricks campaign waged through the left wing media against Paul Nuttall. His response to the dirty ticks campaign - or more likely his staff's response - did him no favours but there's really very little anyone can do to counter the likes of the Guardian, the Independent and the Huffington Post when they're prepared to lie and deceive to undermine the democratic process.
In Copeland UKIP were pushed into fourth place after the Conservatives pulled off a historic win to become the first incumbent government in nearly 40 years to win a parliamentary by-election. In Copeland the Labour Party's negative campaigning was directed at the Conservatives rather than UKIP with one leaflet claiming that children would die if the Conservatives won.
The Electoral Commission surely has to act soon to regulate partisan political campaigning by these organisations to prevent them having such undue influence over elections. It's one thing to endorse a candidate or party and another thing entirely to engage in dishonest negative campaigning against a rival.
The results were both disappointing but it's worth remembering that Stoke Central was 72nd on UKIP's target seat list. If it wasn't for the size of the Leave vote in Stoke it would have been written off as a dead loss. What we've learnt from these two by-elections is that a Leave vote doesn't equate to a UKIP vote. These were the first by-elections UKIP contested following the referendum and it's something to be reflected on. What it absolutely doesn't mean is that Paul Nuttall is a failure as either a candidate or the leader of the party.
Nigel Farage has been vindicated once again with the release of the latest immigration figures showing record immigration from Romania and Bulgaria.
Immigration from Romania and Bulgaria was up 19k over last year at 74k. Net immigration for the year was 273k so that 74k accounts for 27% of total net immigration to the UK.
When Nigel Farage warned of tens of thousands of Romanians and Bulgarians moving here he was derided by the left, accused of racism and called a fantasist. Those left wing politicians, newspapers and hate groups that attacked him seem strangely reluctant to admit he was right and apologise for the vitriol that they directed at him just a few years ago.
The focus in the media is on net immigration which has fallen by 49k and the fact that more EU citizens came here than non-EU for the first time. Very little attention is given to the possibly more important statistic of gross immigration: an estimated 596k people. Gross immigration is an important statistic because it highlights the degree of displacement of the incumbent population.
Last year we received enough people to fill a city the size of Southampton and Havering combined whilst 128k British citizens (roughly the population of Exeter) left the UK. That's nine immigrants moving here for every two British citizens that left the country last year. How can we assimilate and integrate that many people? How can we embrace and adopt parts of their culture like we did after the Windrush generation arrived here when they come in such numbers that their culture replaces rather than compliments our own?
The UK undoubtedly benefited from immigration before it spiralled out of control. We treated immigrants badly by today's standards back in the day but they worked hard, earned the respect of their neighbours and a great many success stories came out of it. The West Midlands is the curry capital of the world with chefs coming from India to Birmingham to learn the craft. Who'd have predicted that 60 years ago? Some of our most successful sportsmen and women are the descendants of those original immigrants from the Caribbean. Black men and women as English as warm beer and spotted dick - an idea that Alf Garnett would have laughed at. We integrated and adopted the immigrant population as our own and they became part of our society but things are different now than they were 60 years ago and that's a real shame because it will take decades to undo the damage that uncontrolled immigration has done to community cohesion.
Voters are going to the polls today in Stoke Central and Copeland in two hugely important Westminster by-elections.
Stoke Central is, of course, the big one where 7 out of 10 people voted to leave the EU and the Labour Party have decided to stand a sexist, potty mouthed, Remain-supporting councillor from Suffolk as their candidate. UKIP's new leader, Paul Nuttall, is the UKIP candidate to replace Labour's Tristram Hunt as MP Stoke Central.
But let's not forget Copeland where UKIP's Fiona Mills is hoping to cause an upset in a seat that has been held by the Labour Party for almost a century. Contesting a by-election on the same day as the UKIP leader means you're never going to get the publicity or resources but a strong third is expected nonetheless.
As Einstein may or may not have said, insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Voting for the same people and parties means nothing will ever change and every election they win is an endorsement for their failed policies. Labour and the Conservatives have been letting down Stoke, Copeland and the whole country for more than a century, it's time for change.
A Labour councillor in Luton has been suspended after comments glorifying Hitler and calling for Iran to wipe Israel off the map were found on her Twitter account.
Aysegul Gurbuz's tweets date back to 2011, before she was elected as a councillor. She described Hitler as the "greatest man in history" and called for Iran to build a nuclear weapon to "wipe Israel off the map".
Cllr Gurbuz claims that other people had access to her Twitter account and that one of them must have posted the tweets in her name but has resigned nonetheless.
The men were arrested as part of a counter-terrorism operation which also saw three men arrested in Birmingham and a number of properties in Birmingham and Stoke searched.
The CEP have been driving their customised flatbed truck with advertising hoardings calling for an English Parliament around Stoke throughout the election campaign. The truck was pulled over this week by two police officers who told Bone that the English flag calling for an English Parliament and playing Jerusalem might be offensive to some people.
Despite the exchange being videoed, Staffordshire Police are claiming that Bone was only pulled over so officers could speak to him about loud music playing from the truck.
Bone has made a formal complaint to Staffordshire Police over the incident whilst UKIP's Home Affairs spokesman, Jane Collins, said " would like to ask the police what they could possibly view as offensive about a hymn and a flag which is used across the world not just in England".
Paul Nuttall is a long-time supporter of an English Parliament and published a policy paper a few years ago calling for devolution for England. He used his first speech as UKIP's candidate for Stoke Central to call for an English Parliament to represent England's interests.
Hussain has been sending text messages, Whatsapp messages and posting messages on Facebook telling Muslims that they will go to hell if they vote for UKIP which he describes as an anti-Muslim racist party.
This has echoes of Tower Hamlets where the Tower Hamlets First party told voters they would go to hell if they didn't vote for their man. They won the elections but a special election court removed their mayor and councillors, banned them from standing for election again and struck the party off the register. If Labour sociopath Gareth Snell wins then Hussain's actions are grounds to annul the election and force it to be re-run.
So, Lib Dem leader Tim Farron went to Stoke today to support their candidate, Dr Zulfiqar Ali. They even found some old "Lib Dems winning here" posters. More posters, in fact, than the 11 Lib Dem supporters who turned out to greet their spiritual leader. There are more people collecting leaflets from the UKIP office on a weekday lunchtime.
The poll highlights just how far Labour's support has declined nationally with the Tories the most popular party amongst working class voters with 39% supporting them. UKIP is the second most popular party amongst working class voters on 23% and Labour trailing in third with 20% support. Overall, the Tories are sitting on 40% for a general election with Labour trailing a distant second on 24% and UKIP in third on 14%.
It gets worse for Labour because even though Jeremy Corbyn is hugely unpopular with voters, experts believe that replacing him would do very little to shore up the Labour vote with the party fatally divided between the hard left Corbynites and the middle class Blairites who want social justice for all as long as someone else is paying for it.
Labour-supporting former BBC and Channel 4 journalist, Paul Mason, has described UKIP voters as "toe rags" who would steal your bike.
In a speech at a Novara Media event alongside the Green Party's London Assembly Member and suspected domestic extremist Sian Berry, he said of UKIP voters "They are toe-rags, basically. They are the bloke who nicks your bike".
When his embarrassed audience failed to greet his comments with rapturous applause he ploughed on regardless: "No, seriously, that’s who it is, it’s the bloke who does all the anti-social things who are made into heroes by Thatcherism and they kind of got sidelined".
Mason says he is planning to hit the campaign trail in Stoke to help Gareth Snell which should do wonders to galvanise the UKIP vote.
Of course, if Paul did decide to "sod off to where he came from" it would be a relatively short 40 mile trip up the road from Stoke to Merseyside. If Gareth Snell decided to take his own advice and "sod off to where he came from" he'd be looking at a 178 mile journey back down to Stowmarket in Suffolk which he only left around 5 years ago to get himself onto the waiting list for what was (at the time) a safe Labour seat.
I'm not sure that ranting like that other Labour fascist, Oswald Mosley, is the way to win an election but Labour seem to have forgotten how to do anything but scream abuse and attack their opponents.
Allan Casey praised the IRA and Sinn Féin on Facebook and glorified IRA terrorists whilst describing the soldiers who killed two IRA terrorists "undercover SAS scum". In another post he wrote "fuck the Brits, remember bloody Sunday".
The SNP make no secret of their dislike of the English or British but selecting an IRA terrorist sympathiser as an election candidate is a new low.

Europe's largest entertainments group, Merlin Entertainments, is planning a new Legoland Discovery Centre in Birmingham if the city council approves their plans next week.
Legoland Birmingham will be only the fourth Legoland Discovery Centre in Europe, the other three being Manchester, Berlin and Oberhausen. Merlin expect to create 40-50 new permanent jobs with the new attraction alongside seasonal workers.

Paul Nuttall has been forced to move out of his Stoke home for safety reasons after being targeted by warm and cuddly Labour supporters trying to break into his house, wandering around his garden, taking pictures through the windows and posting hate mail through his letterbox.
The police have taken their usual stance toward the safety of UKIP representatives targeted by fascists which is to pretend there isn't a problem. Nigel Farage asked for a police security detail after a series of physical and verbal attacks on him, his family and his home but was refused. Now Paul Nuttall is being threatened the police won't even step up patrols in the area.
It's sad that Labour supporters are so intolerant and predisposed to violence and harassment but until they learn how to behave like decent human beings, the police need to step up and protect their victims.
UKIP won an important by-election on Tendring District Council on Thursday to bring the local UKIP group within one seat of the ruling Conservatives.
Cllr Mike Bush took the previously independent-held seat of Great & Little Oakley and brings the tally to 22 UKIP councillors. The Conservatives are clinging to a precarious grasp on power with 23 councillors.

Steve Uncles is well known in political circles for his personal attacks on opponents and generally offensive and obnoxious personality. Many a pint will be consumed in celebration if this stain on humanity is finally convicted.
Uncles has been charged with 10 counts of electoral fraud relating to the 2013 local elections. He allegedly submitted false nomination papers for 7 non-existent people. Despite one of the fake candidates - Anna Cleaves - having the house that was demolished to build his own as her address on her nomination papers he claimed at the time to have been the victim of a dirty tricks campaign.
The prosecution will present their case tomorrow in his absence.
The new facility is expected to be completed by 2020 and create 200 new jobs. It will be the first purpose built facility McLaren have built outside of their Austrian campus.
The Brexit Bill has passed through Parliament unmolested despite attempts by Remoaner MPs to get over 100 pages of amendments added to it.
The bill passed by 492 votes to 122 with 52 Labour MPs defying Jeremy Corbyn's order to back Brexit. The SNP contingent in the Commons marked the vote by singing the EU's national anthem, Ode to Joy. Which is a bit pathetic.
Next stop is the House of Lords where they are expected to try and spoil it again which could lead to the British government using the Parliament Act to force it through. There is speculation that the Tories could call a general election with a manifesto commitment to leave the EU and abolish the House of Lords if peers scupper the bill's passage but this would mean missing an important deadline to avoid having to hold EU elections in 2019.
Today will see the Brexit bill pass through its final stage in the Commons before the battle with the Lords begins.
The British government have so far managed to vote down a variety of amendments that range from demanding concessions from the EU that the government are not in a position to promise through to overriding the wishes of 17.2m voters and blocking Brexit altogether.
MPs have been promised a vote at the end of Brexit negotiations on whether to leave the EU with the new relationship negotiated or whether to leave the EU with no deal.
The Lords are massively pro-EU, thanks in no small part to the 102 Lib Dem and 203 Labour peers that, along with the large number of pro-EU Tories and cross-benchers, make the House of Lords overwhelmingly out of step with public opinion on the EU. There is a growing feeling in the Commons that if the Brexit vote is scuppered by the Lords then a snap general election will be called with the Conservatives fighting it on a manifesto of leaving the EU and abolishing the House of Lords.
Last weekend saw a massive mobilization of UKIP supporters for the Stoke Central by-election, with over 200 members turning up on Saturday and another 70 on Sunday to support our party leader and candidate, Paul Nuttall.
I spent two days on the doorsteps with Freddy, Jim and Patricia as a four man canvassing team, talking with local residents and receiving a tremendous reception – I was even greeted with a big sloppy kiss on one occasion, albeit from a very friendly fox terrier!
The Labour campaign team had been around one street before us and what I found left me absolutely incredulous.
Playing the ‘English Card’
Left in the road was a Labour leaflet carrying the image of their candidate, Gareth Snell.
To my immense surprise, the Cross of St George was prominent at the top of the leaflet – did anybody run this past Lady Nugee, Emily Thornberry MP, who openly sneered at the sight of an English flag during a previous election campaign in Essex?
Indeed, I find the whole idea of Labour putting the flag of our country on their leaflets quite ridiculous in view of their disdain for our national identity as shown in their policy.
Let me explain……
Labour’s Plan for England and the English
Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell wrote on his website a few weeks ago about their plan for a ‘radical, federal UK’. in which he proposed the idea of breaking England up in to regions with their own assemblies. I highlighted this at the time as being exactly the plan that the EU had for us in order to divide the country and break down our bonds of community and national identity. I revisited the site this morning and he has changed the posting to seem less harsh, but the undercurrent is still there (Link below)
The idea of regional assemblies for England has been floated by Labour before, with the policy put to the test in a vote in 2004 and rejected emphatically by the people of the North East.(78% voted against)
Whilst I agree that there needs to be a solution to the lopsided devolution of the UK enacted by the Labour government under Blair, the obvious answer is to give England as a whole its own assembly or Parliament with the same powers as the Scottish Parliament and Welsh/NI assemblies – a policy that is very much endorsed by Paul Nuttall and one which would solve the ‘West Lothian Question’ once and for all.
.Labour’s hare brained scheme would see English ‘regions’ pitched against one another in a scramble for resources and a voice and as such is both divisive and dangerous.
‘England has never had a voice’ – Corbyn
During his initial campaign to become Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn ran a series of public meetings. One of these was attended by my friend Eddie Bone, a major activist for the Campaign for an English Parliament (CEP).
During the debate, Eddie asked Mr Corbyn why there is a Scottish Labour Party and a Welsh Labour Party but no English Labour Party – Corbyn’s dismissive reply was that ‘there is no need for one’.
When approached after the event, Eddie was stunned by the further reply that Corbyn gave to his question –
Eddie: I just have a question to be answered
Jeremy: There are English regions which have regional labour parties, as does Scotland and Wales and there is the Labour party the membership decide
Eddie: So you’re happy to see them broken up into regions
Jeremy: There has never been a collective voice for England

Jeremy Corbyn effectively believes that England, a thousand year old nation going back to King Athelstan, has never had it’s own government talking as a voice for its people.
Furthermore, he also restates the Labour plan for ‘English regions’.

It is obvious that UKIP has Labour rattled in Stoke. With historic military links, the people are proud of our country as can be seen by the number of English flags on display that I observed on the rounds at the weekend.
Labour have shown disdain for our country and our traditions with their plan to break England down in to regions but feel the need to bring out our flag on their leaflets to try and cover up for their shortcomings, especially when confronted by political rivals who promote an inclusive and proud vision for our future.
Added to the well documented support of both Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell for the IRA when they were blowing up English civilians on our streets in the 80’s , their deployment of the Cross of St George can be seen for what it is – a cynical, base ruse to try and trick the electorate in to believing that their party and candidate share the patriotism that can be seen on display across the constituency.
The true voice for England is currently wearing the purple rosette of UKIP – worth remembering when the polling booths open on 23rd February.

One of Labour's biggest donors could be thrown out of the party after funding public meetings during the EU referendum campaign which gave a platform with UKIP.
John Mills, the owner of JML and Dame Tessa Jowell's brother-in-law, was the man behind the Labour Leave campaign which put money into public meetings that had speakers from the Conservatives and UKIP as well as Labour and others. But a Labour MEP is claiming that he has broken the party's rules and wants him kicked out of the party over it.
Mills is the Labour Party's biggest donor if you exclude the millions of pounds of taxpayers' money laundered through the trade unions. He donated £1.65m of JML shares to the party in 2013.
UKIP's candidate for Great Manchester Mayor was the victim of racial abuse whilst campaigning in Stoke at the weekend.

The BBC's research has confirmed that the working class who suffer most from EU membership voted to leave the EU whilst the kids, middle and upper classes and academics voted to remain. Or to put it in BBC speak, thick people in housing estates voted for Brexit and our social superiors and their intellectually superior offspring voted to stay in.
There was a time when the left would have encouraged the working class taking control of their destiny. Now they just sneer at them and call them thick racists.

Cllr Shaun Davies was one of three managers at now-closed Cooper Rollason LLB when the firm got into financial problems in 2004. They used money that should have been held in protected client accounts to cover office costs which is a breach of SRA rules. Cllr Davies was the firm's compliance officer at the time and responsible for stopping such breaches occurring.
Davies and the other two partners were give the rebuke by the SRA which is a permanent mark on their record and ordered to pay £200 costs but escaped a more serious referral to the Solicitors Disciplinary Panel which could have seen them struck off and receive an unlimited fine.
The Labour Party is distributing leaflets in Stoke produced by trade union-backed anti-UKIP hate groups along with their own Labour leaflets.
Social media is awash with pictures of Labour councillors and activists boasting about delivering the leaflets produced and paid for by Hope not Hate and NorSCARF alongside their own to get around election spending limits.
NorSCARF is run by Labour councillor Chris Spence who sits on the same council as Labour's candidate, Gareth Snell and tax dodging Hope not Hate's former general secretary, Ruth Smeeth, is Labour MP for the neighbouring Stoke North constituency. The leaflets are clearly part of Labour's official campaign but you can bet they won't make it onto their expenses return, allowing Labour to spend tens of thousands of pounds more than the legal spending limit.
The Bank of England has increased its economic growth forecast for the second time in 6 months after failing to talk down the economy over the last few months.
The Project Fear propagandists grudgingly issued a 0.8% growth forecast in August but were forced to up it to 1.4% in November when it became obvious how wrong they'd got it. They've now increased their forecast to 2% which is a large jump and could just be exaggerated so they can announce an under-performance to blame on Brexit.
The Bank are still predicting a decline in growth to 1.5% in 2018 but that will no doubt go the same way as their referendum scaremongering and subsequent doom-laden prophecies.
A man has been shot after attacking a soldier with a machete whilst shouting "Allahu Akhbar" in Paris.
The man was refused entry to the Louvre with a suitcase and immediately pulled out a knife and shouted "Allahu Akhbar". He was then shot by one of the soldiers patrolling the Louvre although sadly not fatally.
French authorities have described it as a "serious security incident" but have yet to declare him mentally ill.
Around 7,000 Labour Party members are believed to have resigned from the party last week over Jeremy Corbyn's decision to whip his MPs to vote for the Brexit Bill.
Despite Labour MPs being under a three line whip 47 of their MPs voted against the bill to give Theresa May the go-ahead to trigger Article 50 negotiations, including shadow cabinet members and the whips themselves. And there is still no punishment for the ultimate party political "crime" of defying a three line whip from their increasingly weak and ineffective leader.
It looks like having joined Labour for a quid to vote for Corbyn as leader the kids and nutters have either lost interest or patience in their messiah.

Chair of UKIP's LGBT* group, Flo Lewis, has condemned Jeremy Corbyn for comments he made at an LGBT History event suggesting gay people choose to be gay.
Corbyn was attempting to portray the Labour Party as the gay-friendly party by saying that Labour was behind anyone who "chose to be gay" or "chose to be lesbian".
Mr Corbyn states that he is in solidarity with those who "chose to be gay" and "chose to be lesbian". Mr Corbyn, in case you weren't aware being LGBT* is NOT a choice! It is part of who we are!
Why would anyone choose to be part of a community that endures disproportionate discrimination, be at a higher risk of mental health issues, and in some countries imprisoned or even killed?
Such a statement only serves as a clear demonstration of just how out of touch Mr Corbyn is with the communities that he claims to represent.
