Bercow is a very unpopular Speaker.
He was forced on the House of Commons by the Labour Wips.
They chose to support the most unpopular Conservative MP for the post of Spealer, in order to defeat the selection of a really good person for the job.
This was just another piece of New Labour political trickery.
