Labour MP for Croydon North, Steve Reed, has written to David Cameron asking him to suspend the leader of South Croydon Conservatives after he gave himself a "secret" 18% pay rise.
Councillors gave themselves an increase in allowances but then pledged not to take the increase in 2010. Cllr Mike Fisher spoke to council officers privately last year and told them that he wanted to claim more of the allowance he was entitled to and backdate it, netting him about £10k.
