Tory candidate for Bristol North West gets a taste of UKIP's medicine and doesn't like it

The Conservative candidate for Bristol North West, Charlotte Leslie, has had her car vandalised.

Funny how it's worthy of mention in the national media when it's Tories that are being subjected to the sort of criminal attacks that UKIP supporters have been putting up with for the last 2 or 3 years. The Conservatives are going to regret letting left wing extremists get away with their criminal behaviour for so long.

Bristol school apologise for describing UKIP as racist

A school in Bristol have apologised after including UKIP in a list of racist organisations which they were likening to Hitler and the Nazis.

Pupils at the Bridge Learning Campus were being taught about racism and the teacher had prepared a presentation for them. One of the slides listed UKIP alongside the BNP, English Defence League, National Front and Neo Nazis whilst telling the children that people who are members of those organisations are racists.

This isn't the first time teachers have let their personal prejudices spill over into the classroom and it's unlikely to be the last. The education system has a distinct left wing bias and it's not uncommon to find Che Guevara posters in schools where some teachers consider the mass murdering communist terrorist to be a role model. However, it's not acceptable for teachers to inflict their extremist views on children and it's good to see the school recognise that and issue an apology.

Cllr Ben Walker defects to UKIP

Councillor Ben Walker has defected from the Conservatives to UKIP today, ahead of a UKIP public meeting in Bristol.

Walker is a councillor for Bradley Stoke in South Gloucestershire and a former mayor of Bradley Stoke.  He has defected because of bullying in the local Conservative Party and because of the Tories' "ill targeted" cuts and support of the EU.

A spokesman for Bristol & South Gloucestershire Conservatives said that Walker has let down the hundreds of people who voted for a Conservative last year.  I can't seem to find any condemnation of David Campbell Bannerman's defection the other way last year on their website or in a Google search so it must only let people down when it's Tories defecting to UKIP.  Which is unfortunate for Bristol & South Gloucestershire Conservatives because it's happening every other week at the moment!
