Labour Party official admits embezzlement
The former treasurer of the Eastern Edinburgh Constituency Labour Party has pleaded guilty to embezzlement of more than £4,600 from the party's funds.
Karen Rennie was caught out after she failed to produce accounts several times in 2014 and the police were called in. The Unite union official was suspended by the Labour Party pending an investigation into the cheque fraud.

Glasgow Labour councillor charged with embezzlement
A Labour councillor in Glasgow has been charged with embezzlement and breach of trust.
Cllr Yvonne Kucuk and an unnamed man were charged on Thursday and the case has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal for prosecution. It is not yet known whether the charges relate to her role as Regeneration Manager at the taxpayer-funded Dalmarnock Hub Trust.
The Glasgow Labour Party have suspended Cllr Kucuk.
