The Emperor Strikes Back

Emperor Barroso has been re-appointed as President of the EU Commission in a sham election in which he was the only candidate.

Despite being the only candidate, they still held a vote to give his appointment a thin veneer of democracy. But he didn't get it all his own way though, 382 MEPs voted for him but 219 voted against.

Once again Emperor Barroso confirmed the federalist agenda of the EU:
Anyone who wants to come on board for this exciting journey, that is the construction of a united Europe, it is with them that I would like to build the necessary consensus to strengthen the European project
The Tories, naturally, supported Barroso and his eurofederalist agenda.
