Happy New Year 2016

Well, 2015 has been a bit of a rollercoaster year for UKIP.

We've seen the party gain over 3.9m votes and end up with just one MP, no new UKIP peers were created despite Cameron promising to make Lords match votes, the SNP routed Labour in Scotland, the Lib Dems were virtually wiped out, Nigel Farage resigned as leader for the second time and was convinced to "unresign" by the party's executive and the campaign to leave the EU started in earnest.

2016 promises to be an even more exciting year for UKIP with political pundits putting their money on the EU referendum being held in the next 12 months. With immigration racing out of control and the EU knocking back Cameron's "demands" for renegotiation it's looking unlikely but if 2016 does turn out to be the year we finally got a say on membership of an EU superstate then we're ready to hit the ground running!

2013 has been the most successful year of the party's history. We've increased our membership threefold and had our best ever set of election results. Here's to an even more successful 2014 and an historic victory in the EU elections.

2010 was in many cases a year of the inevitable. A year where the electorate removed the Labour government and went for something different, albeit not quite as we were expecting. I doubt many people would have anticipated Cameron and Clegg sitting side by side on the government benches.

But what 2010 brought in many ways heralds what 2011 has the potential to bring. Those two men are sitting side by side because there is a disenchantment with three party career politics. After 13 years of Labour there was no definite winner in that election and it's hardly surprising, because they're all but identical.

2011 is the year of potential for UKIP. It's the year of big opportunity.

In local elections and assembly elections we have the opportunity to step up and be the alternative to this status quo of smoke and mirrors politics. If we step up to the mark we can show the people of the United Kingdom that they deserve better than grey suited bureaucrats living in a world, out of touch with public opinion and the issues that we want to debate.

With our message of independence at all levels: from the EU, from Big Government and from unnecessary interference in how we run our lives we can show a vision of how this country could be.

In the second decade of this millennium we can show people that enough is enough; it's time for a real change. And it's up to the UK Independence Party to provide it.

2010 will be the year that sees UKIP break into Westminster with two or more UKIP MPs being returned in the general election and taxpayer revolts over the EU bleeding us dry and stealing our country.

We would like to wish our readers a very Happy New Year and for all those right-thinking people out there that see the EU federal project for what it is, take heart: the Czech presidency of the EU starting tomorrow should be a very interesting one if President Vaclav Klaus has anything to do with it!

2009 is probably the last chance we have to stop the EU federal project. By the time the next elections come round, Ireland will have been bullied into ratifying the EU Constitution, eurosceptic political parties will be banned and dissent against Federal Europe will be outlawed.

Forget the eurofederalist LibLabCon coalition, UKIP is the only party committed to withdrawing from the EU, culling quangos and replacing the nanny state with a hands-off government.
