Police send Tory election fraud file to CPS

Police investigating allegations of dodgy election spending in the 2015 general election have sent a file to the Crown Prosecution Service to consider criminal prosecutions.

The 24 elections that were initially under investigation have reportedly been whittled down to 12 with Thanet South in the list of cases to be considered for charges. The investigations all relate to alleged overspending in elections, primarily as a result of claiming local spending as national and failing to declare expenditure.

The Tories are now faced with the prospect of having to contest several by-elections without cheating.

Conservative councillor says police shouldn't record rape as an offence

A former Conservative MP, now a councillor in Worcestershire, has been criticised by the police for suggesting that they should no longer record rape as an offence.

Alan Amos is currently a Conservative councillor for Gorse Hill & Warndon on Worcestershire County Council and was mayor of Worcester between 2014-15. He switched from Labour back to the Conservatives in 2006 after previously switching from the Conservatives to Labour in 1994.

As an MP Amos was known for his strong views on rape, calling for rapists and muggers to be flogged. He lost his seat in 1992 after being cautioned for a "childish and stupid" indecency incident on Hamstead Heath.

Hate crime is unacceptable but police are not reporting an increase after the referendum

The media have been reporting an increase in hate crime since the EU referendum last week with the finger of blame pointed at Brexit and the Leave campaign using immigration as one of its campaign tools.

We reached out to a number of police forces via social media and have had a few responses.

West Mercia Police initially said there was a "slight increase in hate crime" but that it was "unconfirmed whether connected". They have since released a correction saying that reports of hate crime are actually slightly lower since the referendum. West Midlands Police said they "have not seen any notable increase in hate crimes since the referendum" whilst Sussex Police said they "haven't seen an increase in hate crimes reported following the EU referendum" and that there had been one incident reported to them.

This is only three police forces so it's impossible to get a full picture for the whole country but it does cover Birmingham with its large immigrant population, the rural counties of West Mercia and the leafy suburbs and villages of Sussex.

The story originally came the National Police Chiefs' Council and sections have been picked out to suit the agenda of the newspaper or news channel reporting on it. They said "there have been no major spikes in tensions reported" but there had been a 57% increase in reports of hate crime through a website that it runs compared to the corresponding 4 day period four weeks previously. This has ended up, by way of Chinese whispers and lazy and biased reporting, as being a 57% increase in hate crimes sparking an epidemic across the country. The NPCC said "This should not be read as a national increase in hate crime of 57% but an increase in reporting through one mechanism". They go on to say "This is similar to the trends following other major national or international events. In previous instances, crime levels returned to normal relatively quickly but we are monitoring the situation closely".

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said that hate crimes had increased in the capital since the referendum but Met Police haven't issued a statement to back that up. Essex Police have said they have seen an increase in reports of hate crime but a lot of those are complaining about Nigel Farage so are almost certainly part of a left wing hate campaign targeting him. We have yet to find a police force reporting an increase in hate crimes related to the referendum. We have seen a lot of reports of death threats against Nigel Farage and offensive, discriminatory comments against older people but the police don't appear to be interested in those.

Hate crimes are wrong whenever they happen and in whatever volumes but the reality is that hate crimes happen every day, they were happening before the referendum and sadly they will continue to happen in future. The EU referendum does not appear to have contributed to an increase in hate crimes despite press reports to the contrary.

EU Political Strategy Centre proposes EU security services and anti-terrorism police

The EU Political Strategy Centre has drafted proposals for an EU security service that would take over investigations and prosecutions for terrorism.

The "EU Security Union" would create an intelligence service, police force and judicial system that would operate independently across the EU and overrule our own police, judges and intelligence services. It even envisages EU judges sitting in English courts to try terrorist suspects under EU law.

David Cameron's sham renegotiation agreement says that national security will remain a national competency but the EUPSC proposal says that the EU human right to security gives the EU the power to take over security services regardless. The EU clearly have no intention of respecting even the superficial tweaks in Cameron's renegotiation, let alone curtail their federalist ambitions. This will happen and the only way to stop it happening to us is to vote to leave the EU.

School calls police anti-extremist officers in to boy who visited UKIP website

A school in Hampshire has reported a pupil to the police for visiting the UKIP website, claiming that they were concerned that he might be an extremist.

Wildern School called Hampshire Police after checking 15 year old Joe Taylor's browser history and saw that he had visited the UKIP website to research immigration after a discussion in the classroom. The matter was referred to the extremist child grooming unit who had police officers take him out of class to question him, reportedly telling him that it was "not right" to support UKIP.

The school said that it wasn't solely his visit to the UKIP website but he also visited the EDL website last year after watching a documentary about the group. So that's one visit to an extremist anti-Islam website and one to the UK's third largest political party's website and the school and police have him marked down as a suspected future terrorist.

Wildern School and Hampshire Police should hang their heads in shame at what is quite clearly a politically-motivated attack designed to humiliate and intimidate a 15 year old boy. There's a word for that sort of thing: bullying.

Iraqi terrorist shot dead by police in Berlin

Police in Berlin have shot dead a convicted Iraqi terrorist who attacked a policewoman with a knife.

Rafik Mohamad Yousef was sentenced to 8 years in prison in 2008 in Germany for membership of Al Qaeda affiliate Ansar al-Islam and plotting to assassinate the then Iraqi prime minister, Ayad Allawi. He was released on bail and the German government tried to deport him but were unable to do so because of the EU Convention on Human Rights. He was instead allowed to stay in Germany and given a tagging order.

Yousef removed his tag before going out and stabbing a policewoman in the neck. He was shot four times by another police officer and died from his wounds.

Far left criminals are making a mockery of the law

As the election gets closer, the campaign of threats, intimidation and vandalism against UKIP candidates and supporters is escalating.

Signs are being stolen and properties are now being vandalised on a daily basis, someone threatened to firebomb Nigel Farage's house on Facebook yesterday and a man has been arrested for threatening to behead a UKIP candidate in Newcastle today.

Nigel Farage's request for police protection for the election campaign was knocked back for a second time earlier this year and the threat posed by criminal gangs of fascist anti-democracy protesters to UKIP candidates and supporters is met with indifference by the police. There is an organised and coordinated campaign to undermine the democratic process and the police are standing by and watching it get out of control. Groups of far left criminals all over the country are making a mockery of the law and the law doesn't care.
