Worcestershire Conservative Councillor Convicted of Drink Driving

Worcestershire Conservative councillor, Alan Hardman, has been convicted of drink driving by Cheltenham Magistrates' Court.

Cllr Hardman tested positive in a breath test on 22nd December and was convicted by magistrates yesterday. He has been banned from driving for 16 months and fined £250.

He stood down as leader of the council after being caught.

Cheshire Conservative councillor convicted of assaulting her own son


An alcoholic, convicted drink driver Conservative councillor in Cheshire has been convicted of beating her son.

Cllr Tracey Lorde, who is currently serving a 26 month driving ban for driving three times over the legal limit with her children in the car, has been sentenced to 80 hours of unpaid work after being found guilty of assault by beating and criminal damage.

Lorde was elected as a councillor on Poynton Town Council just 7 months ago and in that time has had a conviction for drink driving and now another for assault and criminal damage. Not exactly a pillar of the community!

Conservative leader of Worcestershire County Council charged with drink driving

The Conservative leader of Worcestershire County Council has been charged with drink driving.

Cllr Adrian Hardman was arrested on the 22nd and will appear before a magistrate on 18th January.

Burnley Conservative councillor convicted of assault and drink driving

A Conservative councillor in Burnley has been convicted of assaulting his wife and daughter and drink driving.

Former mayor of Burnley, Cllr David Heginbotham, drove home drunk after a night out and got into an argument with his daugher over a new bike she had purchased which ended up with him assaulting both her and his wife and threatening to cut the bike in half with a chainsaw.

Cllr Heginbotham has been fined £2,460, given a 12 month restraining order and a 12 month driving ban. He is still listed as a Conservative councillor despite being a convicted wife beater and drink driver.

Labour candidate for Banff & Buchan suspended over drink driving charges

The Labour parliamentary candidate for Banff & Buchan has been suspended after being charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without an MOT.

Masoomul Sumon Hoque appeared in front of Aberdeen Sheriff Court last week to face the charges.

Conservative councillor banned for drink driving


A Conservative councillor in Lincolnshire has been convicted of drink driving.

East Lindsey District Councillor Lesley-Jayne Marfleet was seen driving erratically by the police who pulled her over and breathalysed her after seeing that she was visibly drunk. She was found to be two and a half times over the drink drive limit.

She has been banned from driving for 25 months.
