Ken Clarke and Boris Johnson: UKIP voters are elderly men with disappointing lives who have sex with vacuum cleaners

Shortly after Conservative MP, David Davies, warned against insulting UKIP voters, Ken Clarke and Boris Johnson both launched attacks on UKIPpers.

Ken Clarke said that UKIP voters are largely "elderly male people who have had disappointing lives". The elderly male MP who has had a disappointing life said that he wasn't surprised that Douglas Carwell and Mark Reckless had defected to UKIP and was surprised that they hadn't joined UKIP before. Membership of UKIP's youth wing, Young Independence, has more than doubled this year.

Boris Johnson also said that Conservatives defecting to UKIP are "utterly bonkers" and are the type of people who go to hospital with injuries from having sex with vacuum cleaners. He then went on to suggest that Nigel Farage should join the europhile Conservative Party and campaign to stay in the EU with David Cameron.

EU may agree budget by excluding UK

The EU is apparently considering pressing ahead with a budget agreement that includes every member state apart from the UK.  Quite how this would be legal or how it would work in practical terms is a mystery but anyone expecting Cameron to finally put his foot down and say enough is enough will be bitterly disappointed.  As usual.
Odds of a referendum? This much.
Speaking at the CBI conference in central London, Mr Cameron said he was "a good European" but signalled he was ready to take a tough line in negotiations on the 2014-20 budget.

"I make absolutely no apologies for standing up strongly for Britain in Europe on some of our priorities," Mr Cameron said.

Speaking about the harsh cuts Britain has faced, the Prime Minister said: "It is simply not credible to go to Europe and say we have made all these difficult decisions at home but when it comes to the European budget we are going to see it go up and up and up.

"I think I have got the people of Europe on my side in arguing that we should stop picking their pockets and spending more and more money through the EU budget, particularly when so many parts of the European budget are not well spent," he stated.
So Cameron is "a good European" and he makes "no apologies for standing up strongly for Britain in Europe".  Next thing you know he'll be telling us the Pope is Catholic and that bears carry out their ablutions amongst the trees.  After backtracking on a promised referendum when he came to power and then whipping his MPs to deny us a referendum earlier this year, does anyone seriously doubt that Cast Iron Dave is anything but an EU sockpuppet?  As for "many parts" of the EU budget being "not well spent" - we're talking about 3.9% of  the EU's budget of around £105bn for last year (over £4bn) being lost to fraud and error and the EU's own auditors refusing to sign off their accounts for the 18th year in a row.  This isn't a minor blip involving a few quid, it's a major systemic failure resulting in a sum of money being wasted roughly equivalent to the entire Icelandic government's 2011 budget!

And how have his colleagues responded to this statement of undying love for the EU from their leader?  Ken Clarke says that Cameron's "real terms freeze" (ie. a 2.9% increase) is only a "starting point" and he could accept an increase.  Could usually implies some semblance of doubt of which there is none - Cameron will agree to an outrageous increase in the EU budget.  Boris Johnson drifted off into some private fantasy about Cameron dressing up as Margaret Thatcher and saying no to the EU and David Davies - once one of the Conservative Party's most vocal eurosceptics - said that Cameron should give another Cast Iron Guarantee™ of a referendum after the next election and pass a law to make sure it happens.  There's already a law (the EU Act) that was supposed to give us a referendum when there was a new transfer of sovereignty to the EU but which was usefully worded so that the government of the day decides whether they feel like giving us a referendum and of course they don't so they haven't so another one would be quite pointless.  Aside from Cameron's utter determination not to allow us to vote ourselves out of the EU, should such a law actually make it onto the statute books any incoming LibLabCon government could (and probably would) simply repeal it because no parliament can bind its successors.

Opinion poll after opinion poll shows that most of us want out of the EU, it is morally and democratically indefensible to deny us the referendum the majority of the electorate clearly want.

Conspiracy to deny a referendum

The subject of a referendum on EU treaty change is dividing the Conservative & ٨European Unionist Party, with high profile Tories including government ministers on one side saying we must have a referendum and demand the "repatriation" of powers from the EU and; David Camoron, Ken Clarke and Chris Grayling on the other saying we can't have a referendum and they won't be trying to "repatriate" any powers.

The Tories held up their EU Bill as proof of their eurosceptic credentials - a law to give the proles a referendum when the EU tries to take more power off us.  Back in February I said that the chances of getting a referendum out of the EU Bill was "somewhere between zero and um ... zero".  I'd say the chances right now are even lower!

Yesterday Ken Clarke confirmed what Chris Grayling said last Thursday: that saving the €uro is more important than national interest and that there will be no attempt to "repatriate" powers from the EU.

Wee Willy Vague made the unexpectedly frank admission in January that we need a law to protect our democracy from the EU and if the Express' sources are correct, he was absolutely right.  It appears that France and Germany are conspiring to ensure that if Cast Iron Dave manages to grow a backbone and demands something in return for signing their treaty, they will ensure it is blocked.

They needn't worry though, he's not going to make any demands and he's already ruled out a referendum before he knows what decisions are going to be made.  The Merkozy Borg have said they will keep any treaty changes to a minimum so a referendum in the UK can be avoided and Herman van Rumpy-Pumpy has drafted his own proposals for changes to a protocol attached to the Lisbon Treaty instead of a treaty change which means that yes, you've guessed it, a referendum can be avoided.

There is a conspiracy to deny us a referendum from the traitors that rule us to the corrupt EU officials that pull the strings inside the ConDem coalition.  There's only one way to get a referendum on the EU and that's by voting UKIP at every opportunity.

Mentally ill prisoners taking British government to court for benefits

Four convicted criminals and a former inmate in secure mental hospitals like Broadmoor are taking the British government to the EU Court of Human Rights for the "right" to receive benefits while they're locked up for rape, murder and other serious crimes.

Their case revolves around the fact that other patients who are sent there by the courts for their own safety or because they pose a risk to the public are entitled to claim benefits.

This all comes back to the argument against giving prisoners the right to vote - if you commit a crime and go to prison you have failed to live by the basic rules that society sets and do so in the knowledge that if you are caught committing the crime you will go to prison and be deprived of most of your rights and privileges.

The social security system was set up to help people in need, not to pay for fags and porn for criminals.  These people are locked up in a secure hospital as a punishment as well as treatment of their mental illness.  They can't pop down to the local shopping centre to spend their money and they haven't got homes to keep and bills to pay for.

If the EU Court of Human Rights rules that it's unfair to deprive mentally ill dangerous criminals of their "right" to benefits when non-criminals in the same hospital are allowed them then the answer is simple: don't pay the benefits to any of them.  Pensioners in care homes get their benefits taken off them, as do people staying in hospital long term so why are mental patients any different?

Tory MP, David Davis, said:
Yet again this is not an issue of human rights but of lawyers trying to play the system on behalf of their clients.

It is to be hoped that when the State tries to do the best possible thing, both for society and to rehabilitate criminals, that these efforts are not crippled by the meddling of the European Court.
No Dave, it's a case of the British government letting the EU run our country and you are helping to make it happen by propping up the europhile ConDem government.

Nigel Farage, meanwhile, said:
It would be an outrage if any prisoner received a penny of social security payments. It is disgusting that people like Ian Brady could get a back dated pension, stripped from the pockets of law abiding taxpayers on the wishes of foreign judges.
Ultimately it's the rabid europhile, Ken Clarke, that will make the decision as Home Secretary and as he's going around telling MPs that they're going to have to comply with the same EU court's ruling that prisoners be allowed to vote, the result is a foregone conclusion.

Ken Clarke lets the cat out of the bag

Oh dear, Ken Clarke has let the cat out of the bag. Dave won't be happy.

Like UKIP has been saying all along, the Tories cannot and will not do anything about the EU not-a-constitution.

UKIP Query Tory Motives over the EU

At the Bruges Group meeting on Wednesday evening, UKIP MEP candidate Andrew Smith suggested to speakers Stuart Wheeler and Fraser Nelson why it was the Conservative Party is so afraid of the issue of the European Union. Mr Wheeler had described how evasive the Conservative Party was over the Lisbon Constitutional Treaty while Mr Nelson had described their fear of renewed internal conflict if the EU became an active campaign issue. Kenneth Clarke and Michael Heseltine simply will not put up with any Euroscepticism from their party which continues to reel from their splits over Maastricht and other treaties.

Mr Smith suggested we should instead take at face value the assurances of every Conservative Leader since Heath that they remained committed to Ever Closer Union and would never lead Britain out of the EU. He reminded the large audience of David Cameron's "profound" support for the EU. Others pointed out that Kenneth Clarke had called calls for a refendum on the Lisbon Treaty "absurd" while recent research showed that over 80% of British people wanted precisely such a referendum and half the British people wanted to leave the EU altogether.

John Flack, a Norfolk property developer and the Conservative's "swing" MEP candidate in the Eastern Counties announced himself at the meeting and sought support at the European Parliamentary elections. However, it was Andrew Smith who also stood to ask for similar support so that he could become the additional UKIP MEP for the Eastern Couties, who received extensive spontaneous applause from the audience.

John Flack had said at hustings on Tuesday that he believed Britain should remain a member of the EU and try to adapt it from within to make it "the kind of EU we want". Andrew Smith told the meeting how Francis Pym, who had been his MP when he joined the Conservative Party 45 years ago, had made that same claim then. Mr Smith concluded that must have been either a deception or the most catastrophic failure of policy by the Conservative Party as nothing in the EU had since then been changed to suit our preferences and needs - indeed quite the opposite.

Press Association: Tories 'feel let down over Europe'

Tories 'feel let down over Europe'

A betting tycoon expelled by the Conservatives for endorsing the UK Independence Party [UKIP] claims to have been told that "80%" of Tory MPs now support his Eurosceptic stance.

Speaking at a UKIP rally in Exeter, Stuart Wheeler said many Tories were in the same "awkward position" as him - "Conservative at heart but feeling let down over Europe".

The millionaire, who sparked controversy when he donated £100,000 to UKIP, said the return of pro-European Ken Clarke was the "straw that broke the camel's back."

He also attacked shadow foreign secretary William Hague, claiming he was not taking a firm enough line on the question of a referendum on the Lisbon treaty.

Wheeler, who once gave a record £5 million donation to the Conservatives, argued it was only the leadership who were being "timid" on cutting back European influence.

A back bench Tory MP had recently "begged" him to continue his campaign assuring him that "80%" of MPs shared his desire to cut back EU influence.

He told a UKIP audience at Exeter University: "William Hague indicates that the Conservatives are likely to attempt to scrap the Treaty - possibly by calling a retrospective referendum.

"The Tories want to sound tough without making the slightest commitment. The leadership is terrified that a tough stance will split the party. But who will be on the Europhile side of the split?

"Just two big beasts, Clarke and Heseltine, and one or two smaller beasts."
It's not much of an awkward position if we're really honest about it - 99% of UKIP membership are conservative (with a small "c") at heart and feel let down on Europe. That's why they support the only mainstream party that pledges to withdraw us from the European Empire. Anyone who continues to support the LibLabCon coalition with their joint commitment to ever closer union is a fool.

John Tennant: Calling all Tories!

John Tennant, prospective UKIP MEP for the North East of England euroregion, reckons the appointment of arch-eurofederalist, Ken Clarke, sends out a message to the Tory Party - "We are supporters of the EU Project". Was there ever any doubt?
Calling all Tories!

Ken Clarke has returned to the Tory Frontbench as Business Secretary. The pro-EuropeanKen Clarke Conservative former Chancellor of the Exchequer has sent a very important message to the Tory Party - "We are supporters of the EU Project".

I say to all Conservative Eurosceptics, "Come and Join UKIP". David Cameron has sent an important message to his membership, and that message is to remain involved in the EU Project. Don't be fooled by Mr Clarke's comments that he and Cameron will 'agree to disagree' on Europe, this is nothing more than a smokescreen to mask the real truth from Tory members.

UKIP is ready to go to war over Europe and traditional Conservative values, we are your last hope - join us or bust!

I often ask myself, "Are the Tories really Eurosceptics?", if so, why was it the Tories who signed the Single European Act? Signing the Maastrict Treaty, or even having done little to oppose the European Project insofar as to refuse to pull out of the Euro-federalist EPP group? The fact is, the Tories aren't really Eurosceptics, they simply create a facade to keep their dwindling membership happy, and stop the real Eurosceptics from winning. In essence the admission of Ken Clarke to the Tory frontbench, is a warning the Conservative membership - Cameron is Pro-Europe, he doesn't listen to his membership and now is the time for Eurosceptic Tories to join UKIP.

We welcome you with open arms.
UKIP is what Conswervatives want the Conswervative Party to be - a centre-right party, conservative, eurosceptic party and not the flip-flopping eurofederalist mess that it is now. They've already lost a well-respected Councillor over Clarke's appointment from a council that the Tories are clinging on to by the skin of their teeth. The way Camoron is going, the Lib Dems are going to be giving them a run for their money.

Clarke joins front bench, Tories start to join UKIP

UKIP is gaining members because of Ken Clarke's return to the Tory front bench. "Clarke's views on Europe are so out of line with the bulk of the Tory Party membership that they simply cannot stand being in the same party any more." said Nigel Farage, UKIP leader.

Mike Nattrass, UKIP MEP for the West Midlands said "Only UKIP is firmly committed to leaving the EU so that we can be free and independent once again." "Tory MEPs consistently transfer power to the EU and that Tory policy is confirmed by Clark's return."

The first defector in the West Midlands is Denis Allen. A former Mayor of Wellington, a town councillor in Wellington, a councillor on Telford and Wrekin Unitary Authority and former cabinet member there. Denis has also been the Chairman of the Wrekin Conservative Association. After service as an officer in the RAF Regiment Mr. Allen went on to become a Lt. Colonel in the Light Infantry TA.

"I was already uncomfortable with the way that David Cameron fudged the issue of the Conservative membership of the EPP group in the European Parliament. But the appointment of such a strong europhile like Ken Clarke to the front bench was the last straw. We can see that we can't negotiate from within: they ignored the Dutch and the French referendums and they're ignoring the Irish now. We have to leave so that we can rule ourselves." said Denis Allen. "That's why I joined UKIP, the only party advocating that Britain should be ruled by the British."

Mike Nattrass added " Tory MEPs put their Group allowances into the "Yes" campaign and that says it all."
