Five arrested on terrorism charges in London and Kent

Police arrested a man on terrorism charges yesterday in Whitehall, a couple of hundred yards from the House of Commons.

The man was known to the police and was stopped and searched as part of an ongoing operation. He was found to have a rucksack full of knives. He was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.

Meanwhile, a woman has been shot by police during an anti-terrorism raid elsewhere in London. Three people - a man, a woman and a 16 year old male - were arrested on suspicion of preparing to to carry out a terrorist act and another woman was arrested in Kent as part of the same operation. Police say these raids were unrelated to the arrest in Whitehall.

The police have yet to confirm that the suspects are all mentally ill.

English Democrats regional chairman and PCC candidate misses first day of electoral fraud trial

The English Democrat campaign guru and chairman of their Kent branch and south east of England region has failed to attend the first day of his trial over 10 electoral fraud charges.

Steve Uncles allegedly invented 7 fake people and entered them as local election candidates and made or permitted 3 false statements on nomination forms. Suspicions were aroused when the name "Anna Cleaves" came up on the candidates list near the home of Henry VIII's fourth wife, Anne of Cleves and supposedly living in the house that was demolished to build the house Uncles lives in.

Uncles' trial was due to start yesterday but he was taken to hospital complaining of chest pains. Judge Philip Statman has issued a statement saying he is keen to get the trial started and suggested that legal action might be taken to determine whether Uncles is trying to avoid his court appearance. He has already had the trial delayed so he could stand in the Police & Crime Commissioner elections last year.

The party's chairman and self-employed solicitor, Robin Tilbrook, usually represents Uncles and other English Democrats members but seems to have taken a step back from this one. Perhaps his failed attempt to sue me for libel - a case the High Court said was entirely without merit and threw out - has made him a bit more cautious about chancing his arm with lost causes?

Each of the 10 electoral fraud charges he faces carries a potential prison sentence.

UKIP come close second in Kent by-election

UKIP candidate James Halford came a close second in yesterday's by-election for the Swanley division of Kent County Council.

There are already 15 UKIP councillors on Kent County Council making the party the official opposition.

Kent schools taking in adult illegal immigrants claiming to be children

Illegal immigrants in their 20s are being put in schools with children because they're claiming to be 15 or 16 because unaccompanied child asylum seekers get more through the child care system than adult asylum seekers.

Several supposed children have been pulled out of schools in Kent because they've lied about their age. As well as attending school with children, they've been housed in a converted old folks home with genuine child asylum seekers.

Earlier this year a Somali man in his 20s stabbed a member of staff to death at the children's home in Sweden that he was living in after claiming to be 15 years old. The stabbing is believed to have taken place following an altercation with one of the children living there. Last month the Austrian government said that half the illegal immigrants in Austria claiming to be children are clearly lying. These aren't isolated incidents, it's just one of the scams used by illegal immigrants to maximise their benefit income and avoid having to answer inconvenient questions like "why do you speak Punjabi is you're Syrian" or "if it's not safe at home why did you leave your wife and children there".

Conservative councillor suspended over offensive tweets

A Conservative councillor in Kent has been suspended after telling his Twitter followers that he told a Big Issue seller to "f**k off back to Romania".

Cllr Bob Frost is a Conservative councillor for North Deal on Dover District Council. He last hit the headlines in September when a Labour colleague called for more powers for councils to hold rogue councillors to account after Cllr Frost called French people "frogs", black people "jungle bunnies" and asian people "rag heads" and "sons of camel drivers" on Twitter.

Yes, we all know a UKIP councillor in Kent used to be in the National Front

The Guardian must be having a few slow news days judging by their shock revelation that a UKIP councillor in Kent used to be a National Front member.

The party has made no secret of Cllr Martyn Heale having been a member of the National Front in the 70s and has explained every time a newspaper has decided to try and make something of it that he was a member of UKIP before the rules were brought in banning past and present members of the National Front and other racist or fascist organisations from joining the party. Cllr Heale was eligible to stand as a UKIP candidate despite his past membership of a proscribed organisation under rule U.5 of the party rulebook.

Cllr Heale's past was brought up during last year's election campaign and failed to damage the UKIP vote. In fact, a quick Google search turns up discussions about his past as far back as 2006 and every year since. Strangely, there is no mention of the former militant Nazi and convicted animal rights terrorist, Margaret Burke, who was elected as a Labour councillor in 2013.

Swale borough councillors refuse to resign despite moving 150 miles away from their ward

Husband and wife councillors, Jean and Alan Willicombe, have attracted criticism from residents and some of their fellow councillors for refusing the give up their seats on Swale Borough Council after moving 150 miles away from Sittingbourne where they were elected to Lincolnshire.

The Willicombe's claim that they can still represent the interests of the people in Woodstock ward despite having no daily exposure to the problems and needs of the people they were elected to represent and that it would be unfair to make the taxpayer pay for a by-election when the seat is disappearing in 2015 due to boundary changes.

This sort of thing is quite rare but sadly not an isolated occurrence or even the most extreme example. In 2003 a councillor refused to resign after she moved to Bermuda just 3 weeks after being elected to Maidstone Borough Council. In 2010 a Telford & Wrekin borough councillor refused to resign after moving to Spain. A UKIP councillor in London tells us that at least three councillors in Merton have moved out of London but still sit on Merton Council.

This sort of behaviour, whilst legal, is morally wrong and the legislation covering the eligibility of councillors needs to be changed so that the criteria must be met continuously to remain a councillor. All too often the LibLabCon political parties will field candidates that don't want to be councillors and don't intend to stick around for a full term just to keep up the numbers. It deprives residents of effective representation and is just inexcusable.

Left wing extremists assault Nigel Farage in Kent

Nigel Farage was attacked by left wing extremists in Kent yesterday, culminating in a physical assault using a placard which the police are investigating.

The "Nasty Little Nigel" protest was organised by Bunny La Roche who recently resigned from a full time rent-a-mob job with the Socialist Workers Party where it appears she was thoroughly detested by her comrades to form a militant group called Kent International Socialists. Comrade La Roche is the Kent branch of the fascist UAF and has links to other extreme left wing groups. Her Facebook profile lists her "inspirational people" including the mass murderers Lenin, Trotsky and Marx. She attracted criticism even from her own comrades when she shouted "when are you going to die" at a 75 year old BNP councillor.

Comrade La Roche was helped in organising yesterday's violent protest by communist Green Party councillor Ian Driver, perhaps inspired by his party's MP, Caroline Lucas, who was arrested for her involvement with a violent protest against a fracking company last year by left wing extremists. The violent protest also attracted support from the fascist UAF, SWP and Labour activists.

Nigel was left shaken but unhurt after being hit on the head with a placard - an attack that could have had serious consequences as he is still recovering from an operation on his back for injuries sustained from his plane crash in 2010.

The police are apparently looking to identify the person who carried out the assault. The YouTube video below showing the assault being committed in slow motion should help, particularly as the two policemen who saw it happen will be easily identifiable by their colleagues (their numbers had been taken off which seems to be a worrying but common practice just lately).

It's time something was done about these dangerous, lawless left wing extremists who think that violence and vandalism is an acceptable way to make a point.

Labour activist who abused Diane James bombs out in Kent

The Labour regional policy co-ordinator and politics graduate, Amy Rutland, who was planted into a Question Time audience to verbally abuse UKIP's Diane James was humiliated in Thursday's local elections in Kent.

Roger Latchford won the Birchington & Villages seat on Kent County Council for UKIP with a whopping 47% of the vote, followed by the Tory candidate on 32% and Rutland a distant third with just 14% of the vote.  She was saved from even more embarrassment by the Lib Dem who only managed 7%.

What goes around comes around.

Kent County Councillor, Adrian Crowther, has defected to UKIP "not just because of our stance on the European Union, but more importantly on our stance on a number of issues, both local and national" said UKIP leader, Nigel Farage.

Meanwhile, the phones have been ringing off the hook today at Lexdrum House with disgusted and disillusioned Tories responding to Cowardly Cameron's pathetic speech by joining UKIP.  One lady is reported to have been furious at his decision to only hold a referendum after the next election, describing it as "blackmail".

Expect a raft of defections in the coming days.

How deep are the links between the English Democrats and Tories?

It seems that Kent County Councillor, Richard Long, is living a political double life.

The Conservative Councillor for Kent Malling Rural East and solicitor lists a number of directorships in his register of interests but they aren't the interesting ones.  The interesting ones are the undeclared Company Secretary positions (which presumably means they aren't paid posts) which include:

• English Voice Magazine Limited (the English Democrats' magazine)
• Confederation of English Business Limited (apparently unsuccessful alternative to the CBI)
• English Lobby (touts for discrimination cases for Tilbrook to litigate)
• East of England Regional Executive Limited (possible "spoiler" company)
• English Constitutional Convention (defunct joint venture between the CEP and EDP)

What makes these companies interesting?  They're all front companies for the English Democrats - a rival (albeit impotent and largely irrelevant) political party to his own Conservative Party.  Talking of the English Democrats, he holds one more English Democrats-related post:

Now, it's not unusual for a solicitor to be a company secretary but usually it's because a small company wants the professional veneer of a proper office and a respectable professional on what passes for a board.  The English Democrats already have a solicitor as a director - their chairman, Robin Tilbrook - and Cllr Long's office is his house.  So how does a Conservative Councillor not only end up as company secretary of a rival political party and five of its front organisations but also having their registered offices at his house?  And if the posts aren't declared in the members' interests they're presumably unpaid which makes it all the more strange.  If it's not a professional arrangement then it must be a personal one.  Just what links does Cllr Long have with the party that spawned the Steve Uncles libel factory?  Or is it the other way round?  How deep are the ties between the English Democrats and the anti-English Conservative Party?
