ComRes has UKIP in third place

A ComRes poll for the Sunday Mirror and Independent on Sunday has UKIP ahead of the Lib Dems for the first time in a large national poll.

UKIP has been snapping at the heels of the Lib Dems all year and it's great to see UKIP finally overtaking them.  Hopefully third position can be consolidated and reflected in election results.

And surely it is now time for the polling companies to stop bundling UKIP under "other"?

Cameron capitulates to EU over Tobin Tax in UK

The Merkozy Borg got their anti-capitalist Tobin Tax yesterday but failed in their attempt to destroy the English financial sector as it will only be implemented in the €urozone.

Experts still estimate up to half a million job losses in the City though as the Tobin Tax will be inflicted on €urozone banks' operations in the UK.

Camoron is doing the rounds at the moment telling interviewers that he's rejected a deal that isn't in our interests and vetoed a treaty that wasn't in our national interest.  He's done nothing of the sort, of course, because he's allowed a Tobin Tax to be imposed on banks in the UK and there was no plan to make treaty changes because Herman van Rumpy-Pumpy and the Merkozy Borg were determined to avoid a referendum in the UK.  All the changes are being made to a protocol attached to the Lisbon Treaty which Camoron has agreed to.

Wee Willy Vague actually had the nerve this morning to say that the Tories vetoed treaty change, doing what they said they would do as they always do.  Like the referendum on the Lisbon Treaty that they promised and then refused.  Or the referendums that they've promised for EU treaty changes or transfers of power to the EU - even backing it up with a law -  and then refused on more than one occasion.

How easily the so-called eurosceptic Tories are pleased.  Yesterday they were demanding a referendum and repatriation of powers from the EU, today they're congratulating their great leader on a victory for the UK.  There has been no repatriation of powers and there will be no referendum.  Repatriation of powers is impossible without a change to the Lisbon Treaty which the EU and Camoron have conspired to avoid to prevent a referendum in the UK.

The mythical repatriation of powers will forever remain a myth because there is no provision for taking powers off the EU under the Lisbon Treaty and because changing the Lisbon Treaty will require a referendum, the europhile Tories will never attempt to change it.

The changes that are being made to the €urozone are being facilitated by a change to a protocol attached to a treaty.  Changes to protocols attached to treaties require ratification by all member states.  Camoron could have vetoed it but he didn't.  He has agreed to the Tobin Tax that will damage not only our economy but the whole €urozone economy and the subversion of national democracy in the €urozone.

Euro Collapse Day 9

Let's see what's behind day 9 of the €urozone collapse advent calendar ...

It's the introduction of a devastating Tobin Tax for €urozone members.  Goodbye EU stock markets.

Garry Bushell joins UKIP

TV presenter and journalist, Garry Bushell, has abandoned the English Democrats for UKIP.

Garry is a genuine English patriot and democrat and his decision to get behind UKIP as the only truly representative party in UK politics is a welcome one.
Nigel Farage is the only politician of any stature in this country today.

He's always such a breath of fresh air when he appears on TV which is why I have decided to back the party.

I am delighted to swing behind the campaign in Feltham and Heston where the candidate Andrew Charalambous is working hard and has been having a real impact in the area.

I hope the party does well and the people in the constituency vote for a real voice in Westminster.

€uro Collapse Day 8

Olli Rehn, the EU finance commissioner, said we have 10 days to save the €uro and EU. Let's have a look behind day 8 in the €uro collapse advent calendar ...

It's Nicolas Sarkozy, Angela Merkel and Herman van Rumpy-Pumpy conspiring to prevent a referendum in the UK.

A Different Kind of Politician (Our man in Feltham)

Andrew Charalambous is UKIP’s candidate to be MP for Feltham & Heston.

Andrew is a businessman who has spent much of his career helping to reduce homelessness in London. He pioneered an innovative social housing scheme that allows poorer tenants to avoid paying rent and deposits.

Andrew has also served 15 years as a special constable in the City of London and the Honourable Artillery Company. He is a patron of the Leukaemia Society and studied law at London University before qualifying as a barrister.

Andrew said, ” I am delighted to be standing as a candidate for UKIP, Britain’s fastest-growing political party.More importantly, UKIP is the only party which is willing to liberate the British people from the chains of the European Union.
Labour took Britain in to the financial crisis we face today. The coalition parties are determined to keep us there, with our EU membership now costing us £50 million every day.

“We are also bailing out the EU’s failed Euro while sacrificing front line services in Britain. This hurts those who need our protection the most: The elderly, the seriously ill and the disabled. It is about time that the people of Britain were put first”

UKIP leader Nigel Farage said, “Andrew is an excellent candidate. He fully grasps what matters to the people in this country and will fight tooth and nail for those in Feltham and Heston. UKIP is doing well in the polls in Greater London, often beating the Liberal Democrats. The time has come for a fresh voice in British politics and increasingly for many, UKIP is that voice ”

Conspiracy to deny a referendum

The subject of a referendum on EU treaty change is dividing the Conservative & ٨European Unionist Party, with high profile Tories including government ministers on one side saying we must have a referendum and demand the "repatriation" of powers from the EU and; David Camoron, Ken Clarke and Chris Grayling on the other saying we can't have a referendum and they won't be trying to "repatriate" any powers.

The Tories held up their EU Bill as proof of their eurosceptic credentials - a law to give the proles a referendum when the EU tries to take more power off us.  Back in February I said that the chances of getting a referendum out of the EU Bill was "somewhere between zero and um ... zero".  I'd say the chances right now are even lower!

Yesterday Ken Clarke confirmed what Chris Grayling said last Thursday: that saving the €uro is more important than national interest and that there will be no attempt to "repatriate" powers from the EU.

Wee Willy Vague made the unexpectedly frank admission in January that we need a law to protect our democracy from the EU and if the Express' sources are correct, he was absolutely right.  It appears that France and Germany are conspiring to ensure that if Cast Iron Dave manages to grow a backbone and demands something in return for signing their treaty, they will ensure it is blocked.

They needn't worry though, he's not going to make any demands and he's already ruled out a referendum before he knows what decisions are going to be made.  The Merkozy Borg have said they will keep any treaty changes to a minimum so a referendum in the UK can be avoided and Herman van Rumpy-Pumpy has drafted his own proposals for changes to a protocol attached to the Lisbon Treaty instead of a treaty change which means that yes, you've guessed it, a referendum can be avoided.

There is a conspiracy to deny us a referendum from the traitors that rule us to the corrupt EU officials that pull the strings inside the ConDem coalition.  There's only one way to get a referendum on the EU and that's by voting UKIP at every opportunity.

HERE IS A GOOD DEAL...

HERE IS A GOOD DEAL...

KILLING THE FAMILY UNIT OFF

A new think tank has suggested that say that the traditional family is out of date, and that other forms of partnership that are adopted by the majority.Well the think tank seems to have thought its way into what the political class has been trying to do for years.Agree to belittle the sanctity of marriage.and use the big get out clause which is of course the "date"out of date, not modern, keep up with the times. In my think tank which I carry on top of my shoulders, thinks backwards and forwards, thinking backwards I think that there is a plan afoot to destroy the family because it is the strength of the nation, the leaders of all parties have engaged themselves in making sure this strength is weakened. The out of date British family was strong and new right from wrong and determined to keep possession of their own land. And being married was not considered sinful.which is not in line with our sinful political class either. What the think tank should have said was,we think we have gone too far down the road to hell and that we need to re educate the people that have got it wrong, just for the sake of weakening the family and the people in general.Just so they can be to weak to resist the evil forces that gather about our land and in our parliament. No that was not a think tank that was a do as you are told tank.

GAMBLING LESSONS.

HERE IS A GOOD DEAL...
So there may be Gambling lessons in the classroom, couple with the pornography this should make a fine body of school levers
have they done this because they know there is no future for them, and they will never work, so persuade them to gamble instead to give them some kind of financial hope.but gambling is a sin and we know that the political class are sinners
and would like everybody to fall in line with them,or is there some other reason ?

ARCHBISHOP BEWILDERED

I declare myself not a citizen of the European Union.
I feel a bit sorry for the Archbishop, and his St Pauls fiasco and his wandering of what Jesus would do.

Euro Collapse Advent Calendar Day 6

Olli Rehn, the EU finance commissioner, said we have 10 days to save the €uro and EU.  Let's have a  look behind day 6 in the €uro collapse advent calendar ...

It's Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy (aka the Merkozy Borg) with their plan to single handedly save the €uro with a new EU treaty, fiscal union, EU powers over national budgets and automatic fines for countries that exceed a 3% budget deficit.

Only 4 more days to go ...

The Merkozy Borg announce plan to save the €uro

Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy (collectively known as the "Merkozy Borg") have today announced how they are going to single handedly save the €uro.

A new treaty will be signed - preferably by all 27 member states of the EU but they may accept a compromise of just the 17 €urozone members - that will provide for fiscal union, oversight of national budgets by the EU (where have we heard this before?) and automatic fines for member states who don't keep their budget deficits down to 3%.

Before the aforementioned treaty has been drawn up, Cameron has decided there will be no need for a referendum.  In a speech in London today he said that if there was a transfer of powers to Brussels then there would be a referendum but if there wasn't then there would be a different set of circumstances.  A spokesman for Downing Street was slightly more blunt and simply said there isn't going to be a referendum.

Cameron was his usual disingenuous self on the impact of the protracted collapse of the €uro:
We want these countries to resolve the eurozone crisis. It is having this chilling effect on our economy and the longer this crisis goes on, the worse that effect is.
Which is right in a way but as usual it's only half the story.  The longer the crisis goes on and the more we are dragged into bailing it out or commit to tighter integration with the failing EU superstate, the worse the effect on our economy.  Cut the political union loose and go back to the free trade agreement we were supposed to have joined all those years ago and we will insulate ourselves to a certain extent from the collapse of the single currency.  Regulate UK banks' lending to the €urozone and buying €uro bonds to prevent them becoming over-exposed to toxic €uro investments and even better.

He then went on, rather curiously, to say:
I have always said that if there is treaty change in Europe then we will make sure that Britain gets something in order to enhance, protect, defend and promote our national interest in Europe. I think that is absolutely the key...

If there is treaty change at the level of 27, then Britain has its desires and requests to make sure our relationship with Europe is properly managed.
According to the law his government passed, if there is a treaty change that passes powers to the EU then we will have a referendum.  According to his party's policies, if there is a treaty change that requires the UK's signature, they will demand the "repatriation" of powers from the EU to the UK.  Yet here he says "Britain" has its desires and requests if a new treaty requires our signature.  Where is the Cast Iron Guarantee™ of a referendum?  Where are the demands to "repatriate" powers from the EU in return for grudgingly signing a new treaty?
The key priority is to get stability restored, to get a solution to the eurozone crisis. At the moment that is everyone’s priority. If treaty change is the means to that end, then we would recognise that as a necessity.
- Chris Grayling MP
Not just the key priority, the only priority.  Saving the €uro is more important than national interest!

I'm sure ConservativeHome won't mind me nicking their picture from earlier, especially as Tim Montgomerie seems to be getting quite agitated at his leader's quite appalling behaviour of late (although not agitated enough to bit the hand that feeds him) ...

On the streets in neighbouring Feltham

A parliamentary by election was called at the end of November in the Feltham and Heston constituency due to the sad death of sitting Labour MP Alan Keen.

With Feltham being on the borders of Hillingdon, this has given me an early chance to become involved and help out in a live campaign for the first time since joining UKIP in October.

Action Day, Saturday 3rd December 2011

The national party were quickly in to their stride, and over twenty activists were out distributing 5000 leaflets on Sunday 27th November before the encumbent Labour party had even announced their choice of candidate.

Saturday 3rd December saw a concerted push, with many senior party members out to support candidate Andrew Charalambous. I arrived outside the main entrance to the shopping centre on the High Street at 10am to find a stall already in place, and many shoppers stopping to talk with activists dishing out a four page newsletter and glossy A5 leaflets with Andrew’s picture on the front.

The familiar face of Nigel Farage was in the thick of things, greeting the public and cracking jokes in between photographers and journalists turning up for video interviews. The Daily Express were in attendance in the form of Political Editor Patrick O’Flynn to view events, and London MEP Gerard Batten arrived to add his weight to the canvassing around ten minutes after myself.

The young UKIP element were also in evidence, with Sanya-Jeet Thandi popping back to the campaign table to collect folded newsletters on more than one occasion – Myself and a Feltham branch member were furiously folding paper and adding flyers to keep up with the demand as the locals gathered to see what all the fuss was about.

Having heard many comments on the net regarding UKIP being ‘Dad’s Army’ and ‘The disenchanted OAP arm of the Tories’, it was great to see activists from all age groups and sections of our society on the stall.

Unwanted Attention

Unfortunately, with the press and cameras in attendance some elements we would wish to avoid started circling. Members of the BNP started hovering around on the periphery, handing out leaflets to the people attracted towards where we were pitched. Local UKIP members decided it was best to move on rather than our presence attracting people towards them, and as we started to pack up London BNP organiser Steve Squire decided to put their campaign table right next to ours as ‘we are here every week’ and ‘there is room enough for both here’.

I stayed behind with our trestle table until a pick up could be arranged for it, which came courtesy of Harry and Laura from young UKIP passing by and getting on their mobiles to hurry things along. A scuffle broke out just before the van turned up as one of the young UKIPpers commented on the union flag on the BNP table being somewhat at odds with the BNP standing a Uruguayan who volunteered to fight for Argentina during the Falklands war being their Mayoral candidate for GLA 2012. Mr Squire took severe exception to this (probably because Carlos Cortiglia was there in attendance with him) , and after pointing out that in his opinion this was a slur generated  by Gerry Gable of Searchlight, he proceeded to shove the young man in the chest and threatened to ‘sort him out’.

Considering that Mr Squire had tried to tell me earlier about the BNP being ‘slurred’ by the media, this was probably not the best way to prove it. He had also commented that the UKIP immigration policy would result in ‘all the whites leaving and being replaced with foreigners’ , to which I replied that if that was the case could he please put George Galloway, Ken Livingstone and Len McCluskey on the first boat out, and if he was so worried about this then why had he, as London GLA organiser, put up a Uruguayan for Mayor of London? Answers on a postcard please, Mr Squire….

Getting the message out

Back at the party offices, I walked in to a hive of activity. A map of the constituency was on the walls, and party activists were furiously working on getting leaflet drops set up. I was impressed to see senior party officials getting their hands dirty in the organisation and envelope stuffing, including our candidate (left) whilst the media were dropping by to interview Nigel Farage who was still there and pitching in.

I had been told prior to joining that Nigel is not afraid to roll up his sleeves, and was impressed when he asked me if I was alright after being left alone with the campaign table – In the midst of all the interviews and press attention, he took the time to enquire after the wellbeing of an ordinary member. Would Milliband,Clegg or Cameron have done so?

After a cup of tea in the cafe next door, I was passed a set of name addressed leaflets and given an area to post them in. Loaded in to my shoulder bag I set off to deliver them, grabbing a handful of newsletters on my way out. Yet again, I passed a long standing member of the party on the way out (Toby from Spelthorne) who was back for more leaflets.

UKIP must have had over forty members out yesterday, with the signing in book showing that people had travelled from all over England to participate. Local election polls are putting us ahead of the Liberal Democrats in the seat already.
From the effort I saw yesterday from all members of the party, we deserve a result – What’s more, England deserves a result from a dedicated bunch of individuals who put their country and their people ahead of personal gain.

Euro Collapse Advent Calendar Day 5

It's now day 5 of the 10 days to save the €uro.  I wonder what's behind day 5 in the €uro advent calender ...

Oh look, it's one of Nick Clegg's €uro ice skates.
