Clegg confirms Cameron's referendum lie

Nick Cleggover has formally announced Camoron's intention to deprive us of another promised referendum on the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty.

Camoron promised a "referendum lock" which would prevent any more powers being transferred to the EU or new treaties without a referendum.  It's been 6 months since he lied himself into power and since then he's handed over control of the financial sector to an EU regulator, approval of the national budget budget to an EU quango and signed up to the EU diplomatic corps representing our "interests" abroad.  How many referenda have we had?  None.

Now France and Germany want more powers for the EU over the economies of member states to help them prop up the Euro and to legalise the EU bailout of Greece.  The new powers will require a change to the Lisbon Treaty.  A change to the Lisbon Treaty requires a referendum, the Tories said so less than two months ago:

The lock will mean that any future treaty amendment which seeks to transfer power from the UK to Brussels will require a referendum in this country

Of course Camoron and Cleggover say that the new powers will only apply to members of the Euro but Herman van Rumpy-Pumpy says that the changes he has been asked to come up with will apply to all member states.

How do rank and file Tories put up with this constant betrayal from their leaders?  Almost every day another deceit is exposed, another promise broken, another lie told.  How can their members keep faith in their party when they are repeatedly deceived and their long-held principals abandoned to further the federalist agenda?  I can understand Tory MPs, MEPs and Councillors putting their careers and expenses before their principals but what about the majority of the rapidly declining membership (about 10k per year decline according to this source) who pay to be lied to?

It's not that simple, I'm afraid

It is a commonly-held belief that leaving the European Empire is as simple as repealing the European Communities Act 1972, the law that made us a member of what was then the EEC.

I'm afraid it's not that simple.

We can repeal the European Communities Act 1972 but the Lisbon Treaty still stands under the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties and the Lisbon Treaty says that if we wanted to leave, we would have to ask permission from the rest of the European Empire to leave and if they agreed we would have to endure a 2 year "cooling off period" before we got out.

To renounce the Lisbon Treaty without having to get permission and sit out the cooling off period, we would have to argue that articles 50 and/or 51 (corruption and/or coercion of our representative) applied.  To leave early without invoking articles 50 and/or 51, we would have to break international law to get out of our Lisbon Treaty obligations.

It is true that no parliament can bind its successor under English common law but the "Supreme" Court or the EU Court of Justice (as the highest legal authority in England) can rule differently.  It's no longer a case of repealing the European Communities Act 1972, we would have to repeal or amend the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (it's on the statute book) to allow the British government to withdraw unilaterally from the Lisbon Treaty.  Repealing or amending the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties would seriously undermine international confidence in the country and set a very dangerous precedent - probably more damaging to the country than the EU, I'm afraid.

I would say we've been stitched up like a kipper but the Spanish have probably got all the kipper quota under the Common Fisheries Policy.

The Albion Alliance: Cross-party independence alliance

The Albion Alliance was launched today, to bring together people from all parties who want a referendum on the EU.

Numerous opinion polls tell us that 70% of the voting public want a referendum on the EU.

Over the past 40 years Britain has been led, against the wishes of its people, into a political union by a discredited political elite without so much as a single vote on the issue from the public. The last time the public were consulted, in 1975, it was for a simple trading partnership called the EEC. No-one has agreed to a political union where the law of this land will be made by unelected officials in a far off land.

We believe that the forthcoming General Election should be the catalyst that forces that referendum. A referendum that simply asks the public:

“Should the United Kingdom remain in a political union with the other member states of the EU. Yes or No?”

In order to force this issue to the top of the agenda, not in another 5 years, but as a priority for any incoming government, we will be asking every PPC to unreservedly commit to putting the country before party by signing up to the principles laid out in this Albion Alliance.

We are not asking any PPC to abandon his or her own party, nor to set up a party in opposition, but to simply put the people whose votes they are asking for, and their country, before all else, irrespective of the Party Whip.

When they become a signatory to the Albion Alliance, they are pledging to force this referendum, they will be asked to carry the Albion Alliance logo on their campaign website and literature, so that you the voter will know that if you vote for this candidate, they have pledged to granting the public that all important voice on the future of these Islands, a United Kingdom, a land once known as Albion.

The public will then know when they are making that all important decision on who to vote for, a vote for a PPC who is pledged to the Albion Alliance means a candidate who is committed to a referendum, where we hope to find a majority of A.A. MP’s across all political parties once the election is over. Such an alliance would also consider policies that are likewise mutually compatable and can be agreed with the members.

I have already made that pledge, and I urge you to write to your current MP, and then to all the PPC’s intending to stand for election in your constituency urging them to make the pledge to the A.A., The Albion Alliance.

UKIP MEP Mike Nattrass says Tory leader David Cameron has failed the British people after withdrawing his ‘cast iron’ commitment to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

The UKIP West Midlands MEP says Mr Cameron’s u-turn shows the Tories are committed to the European Union and the signing away of our country.

“It is clear from the Tories’ u-turn that the party is in disarray over Europe and their decision over the referendum shows the vast majority of its MPs and MEPs are euro federalists,” said Mr Nattrass.

“Mr Cameron has also spoken about a UK sovereignty bill. This is meaningless spin as the UK is bound by acquis communautaire, which includes treaties, regulations and directives passed by the EU and also laws of the European Court of Justice. The Lisbon Treaty is therefore, ‘self amending’ and the UK will have no further say.

“The Tories have conned the British people. UKIP is the only party exposing the EU and is committed to withdrawing Britain from the European Union.

“Laws should be made in Westminster and not in Brussels. It is time to say No to the EU and pull out of the European Union,” he added.

Hague confirms Tories believe in Federal Europe

The pre-pubescent Foreign Minister, David Millibeast, has echoed UKIP's position on David Camoron's latest doomed EU policy of negotiating a repatriation of powers from the European Empire:

The fact is you can't simply opt out of treaty obligations because to do so you need the agreement of the 26 other member states

David Cameron's position on Europe is false and dangerous.

Meanwhile, William Hague has confirmed that the Tories believe in a Federal Europe, the continued power-grab by the EU and the permanent loss of sovereignty to the European Empire.

We won't be deciding on this policy [Europe] based on the activities of what is a fringe party. We'll decide on what is best for the country and what we really believe in. The real choice is between the failed government of Gordon Brown and a new government under David Cameron.

Interesting choice of words there by William Hague. UKIP is the fourth largest domestic party in the UK, the second largest EU party in the UK and represents the views of the majority of the electorate who are eurosceptics. It is the LibLabCon that are on the fringe of politics, imposing their anti-democratic eurofederalism on an unwilling electorate.

Michael Portillo told the BBC this morning that if he was David Camoron, he would be "relieved" that Lisbon has now been ratified and that he wouldn't have to worry about the European question any more. He went on to say that doesn't want referendum on any future EU treaty, making a mockery of the latest pronouncement from the Tories that they will forget about Lisbon and object to any future EU treaty instead. A spokewoman from Open Europe said there won't be any more treaties: "they won't make that mistake again".

Conservative Home has confirmed what we've been saying along - the Tories will not hold the referendum they promised on the Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution.

Tim Montgomerie has tried to spin David Camoron's treachery claiming that the last line of his cast-iron guarantee to hold a referendum means that no promise is being broken:

No treaty should be ratified without consulting the British people in a referendum

Montgomerie emphasises the word "ratified" because that is apparently the reason why promising a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution isn't really a promise to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution. It means that the bit before ...

Today, I will give this cast-iron guarantee: If I become PM a Conservative government will hold a referendum on any EU treaty that emerges from these negotiations.

... isn't a "cast-iron guarantee" to hold a referendum on the EU treaty that emerged from the negotiations - namely the Lisbon Treaty.

Montgomerie then goes on to say that David Camoron, having lied to his party, the Sun and the electorate by saying that he will hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution when he has no intention of doing so, "deserves the continuing support of eurosceptics". On what basis?

The next Conservative government will seek a "manifesto mandate" for renegotiation

And this shows how findamentally dishonest David Camoron, the Tories and Conservative Home are. When the Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution comes into force it is not possible to renegotiate our relationship with the European Empire.

The British government will not be able to repatriate powers from the European Empire without the unanimous agreement of every member state.

The Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution introduces qualified majority voting - where we no longer have a veto - for a huge amount of policy areas.

The Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution is not a menu from which we can pick and choose the least damaging and costly clauses - it replaces the Treaty of Rome, the treaty that established the EEC (now the EU). It would be like Puerto Rico joining the United States and picking only half od the US constitution.

The only way to renegotiate our relationship with the European Empire is to leave.

But even if David "I don’t agree Britain would be better off by leaving the European Union" Camoron was forced into holding a referendum on leaving the European Empire it would still require the unanimous agreement of all member states before we could leave following a two year "cooling off period".

In August 2007, David Camoron told the Shropshire Star:

I don’t agree Britain would be better off by leaving the European Union. Instead, we need to work within the EU to fight for change but on the question of referendums, I do want to see one on the EU Treaty because that’s what everyone was promised. The Conservative Party is campaigning very hard on just this. Other European leaders say the latest EU Treaty is a return of the constitution in all but name so whether or not he keeps the promise to hold the referendum is a real test for Gordon Brown. It will show whether he means what he says when he talks about restoring trust in government, and involving people more in decisions.

Hoisted by his own petard. David Camoron promised a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty/EU Constiution and he has renaged on that promise. This was a real test for the man widely expected to be prime minister next year and he failed. In his own words, it shows that he doesn't mean what he says about restoring trust in government and involving people more in decisions.

David Camoron is a fundamentally dishonest man, as is the Conservative and European Unionist party he leads. The vast majority of the Tory membership is opposed to the Lisbon treaty/EU Constitution, they are opposed to the European Empire and the wholesale transfer of our sovereignty to unelected eurocrats on the continent but they have been betrayed by their leader and his euofederalist colleagues.

But don't have too much sympathy for the eurosceptic Tories who have lost their party to eurofederalist traitors - they have allowed it to happen and they allow it continue happening by continuing to support the party that has betrayed them. And people like Tim Montgomerie - collaborators with, and apologists for, the eurofederalist leadership - deserve no sympathy at all for losing the party they have worked so hard for. They sense that power is within their grasp and even though their party no longer represents their views, they will happily put their principles to one side and betray their country to be part of it.

If the Conservative Party no longer represents your views (how could it?) then you have two options. You can either continue to support and vote for the Tories and allow yourself to be part of David Camoron's eurofederalist mandate or you can vote for a party that does represent your views, one that will withdraw this once great nation from the European Empire. That party is, of course, UKIP.

Don't let yourself be conned into believing that you have to vote Conservative to stop Liebour or the Lib Dims from getting into power - why vote for someone you don't want to keep out someone else you don't want? Lesser of two evils? Don't make me laugh - there's barely a cigarette paper between Liebour and the Tories. David Camoron will never renegotiate our relationship with his beloved European Empire, the Tory policy of "reform from within" is a falacy.

Vote Conservative, get Brussels. Vote UKIP, get our country back.

We must give in to the EU - or give it up

A Tory referendum on the Lisbon Treaty would be futile, says Simon Heffer, but politicians can't hide from the real question forever.

I know it is bad of me, but I had hoped Tony Blair would become President of Europe. The prospect of his goading and provoking a possible Tory government for a few years seemed irresistible: not least because it might have been the final straw needed to convince the Tories about just what a lost cause Europe is.

The Lisbon Treaty is a great betrayal of the British people. The Labour government's reneging on its promise – made by Mr Blair – to hold a referendum on the matter will stand as the most unprincipled and dishonest act in our politics since Ted Heath took us into the Common Market nearly 40 years ago.

The notion that the treaty as it now exists is materially different from the original document vetoed by the French and the Dutch – the excuse given for breaking the promise – is preposterous. Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, the former French president who drew up the document, has said as much. So we have lost more of our sovereignty, and our democracy has gone into reverse, thanks to a blatant act of deceit by Gordon Brown.

Dave has made all the right noises about being unhappy with this, and I don't doubt that he is. However, short of the nuclear option – asking the people not whether they like Lisbon, but whether they think we should stay in or get out of the European Union – there is absolutely nothing he can do about it. Lisbon cannot be reneged upon without reneging on the Treaty of Rome itself. Once ratified by the Czech Republic, Lisbon will be consolidated into the original treaty. So any talk of post-facto referendums is simply drivel, and that is why Dave has not committed himself to one.

The other bad news for him is that Europe threatens to become a toxic issue in his party once more. On the one hand, the ratchet effect of Lisbon will lead to further cessions of sovereignty over the next few years without any consultation with Westminster: at which point the fundamentally anti-democratic nature of this process will become even more apparent. The Right of the Tory party will become more and more angry. Our ability to govern ourselves will diminish.

We shall be especially aware, I expect, of an EU foreign policy (especially if it is executed by little Miliband, with or without his banana) that is done partly in our name, but which may well be at odds with that of Her Majesty's Government. However, at every bellow of rage from the Eurosceptics, there will be loud, attention-grabbing rebukes from federalist dinosaurs such as Lord Heseltine, "Chris" Patten and the rest. It has always been a boil and, believe me, one day it will have to be lanced.

Still not quite grasping how bad things are, some Tories say they will seek a referendum anyway on the need to have a renegotiation of the treaty. Apart from being expensive, this would be futile. We know the result already. And when Dave, armed with a mandate from that small fraction of the electorate that could be bothered to vote in such a pointless exercise, told Europe he wanted a renegotiation, Europe would tell him to get lost. It may take two to tango, but it takes all 27 to reopen the Pandora's box of rebuilding the EU constitution. The other 26 simply won't do it.

For good measure, the completely undemocratic Commission is on the record as having said there will be no inter-governmental conference for at least 10, and possibly 15, years, because Europe has had enough of them.

Which brings us back to the only question, therefore, that it is meaningful to ask: do we stay in, or do we get out? Dave wouldn't dream of offering to ask it now. But one day he, or a successor, will simply have to.

Czech Republic given opt-out from EU Charter of Fundamental Rights

The European Empire has agreed to give the Czech Republic an opt-out from the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in an attempt to back Vaclav Klaus into a corner and get his signature on the Lisbon Treaty.

Despite the Czech Constitutional Court still considering a legal challenge to the Lisbon Treaty, the meeting of EU leaders this week will be pressing ahead to decide who they will crown as President of the European Empire as if the result of the Czech Constitutional Court's decision is either a forgone conclusion or an irrelevance.

So if the European Empire is happy to "prejudice" the decision of the Czech Constitutional Court by openly discussing the appointment of an EU President, why won't Dave Camoron "prejudice" the decision by telling us what he's going to do when Vaclav Klaus signs the Lisbon Treaty and the EU Constitution is forced on us?

Czech Constitutional Court delays ruling on EU Constitution

The Czech Constitutional Court has delayed its judgement on whether the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty violates the Czech constitution until at least the 3rd of November.

According to the BBC, the Czech Constitutional Court has received more petitions in the last few days which may have had a bearing on the delay.

The Metro says that if the Czech Constitutional Court rules that the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty isn't incompatible with the Czech constitution it will be a blow to David Camoron's hopes of holding a referendum after the next election. The Tory Shadow Europe Minister (shouldn't that be EU Minister?), Mark Francois, once again refused to say what the Tories would do if the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty was already ratified by the time of the next election on Newsnight last night. The Tories - and David Camoron in particular - have no desire to hold a referendum, they're a eurofederalist party.

And will the regional administrators of the European Empire (or Presidents and Prime Ministers as they still like to quaintly call themselves) still be choosing their EU President and Foreign Minister despite them having no legal basis until the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty is ratified? Of course they will because the word "no" doesn't feature in the European Empire's vocabulary.

If the Czech Constitutional Court rules against the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty then they will instruct their Vichy government in the Czech Republic to change the law. If the Czech Constitutional Court finds in favour of the EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty and Vaclav Klaus refuses to sign it then through their Vichy government they will engineer a coup against him and install a eurofederalist sockpuppet in his place who will sign it.

EU surveillance state: How the EU is watching you

Today, Open Europe published its report "How the EU is watching you: The rise of the surveillance state (PDF), covering:

• Measures already agreed or in force, including surveillance databases;
• What to expect next.

Measures already in force include:

• collection and storage of communications (email, 'phone, internet usage, etc.);
• DNA and fingerprint sharing across the EU, in a massive database;
• EU-wide ID card;
• Mass surveillance;
• Health information on citizens, being available to bureaucrats;
• Making international agreements/treaties without recourse to 'sovereign' states (which would no longer be sovereign, should the Lisbon Treaty prevail).

What to expect next:

• 5-year strategy for 'justice' (read, injustice);
• Collecting and sharing surveillance data;
• Monitoring and sharing data on people's travelling histories, such as information from travel agencies;
• Remote computer searches (which already exist in the US - when you connect to government web sites, you explicitly grant them access to your hard drive);
• Being tried for 'offences' which are not illegal in your country;
• Police to be trained by EU;
• Largest fingerprint system in the world;
• Exploding of extradition via the European Arrest Warrant;
• EU defining laws on citizens' right to internet access;
• Access to member states' tax databases.
  

What will Cameron on have to say on the above? If he doesn't give us a referendum, we have a bleak future ahead of us - a totalitarian nightmare.

Klaus: articles and blogs today

Klaus has expressed his dismay at the Lisbon Treaty and while some take the view that he has capitulated and will sign the treaty, some believe otherwise.

Klaus has been concerned about 2.5 million ethnic Germans who were expelled from Czechoslovakia after WW2, attempting to reclaim their properties.

As such, he and a group of senators posted a legal challenge to the Czech constitutional court, which is expected to give its decision on 27th October 2009.

Klaus cannot sign before the ruling is delivered and if the legal challenge is rejected, Klaus might have to sign - unless he can find another way to hold up ratification.

Klaus capitulates

The Czech resident, Vaclav Klaus, has capitulated to the EUSSR, saying that it is only a matter of days or weeks until he has to sign the Lisbon Treaty/EU Constitution.

Once he has signed the Lisbon Treaty and it is ratified, a new country called the European Union will be created with its own president, foreign minister, diplomatic service, police force and military. And once it's signed, we will no longer be allowed to leave the European Empire without the unanimous agreement of every member state and a two year "cooling off" period.

There is only one way out now - to leave the EU. The Tory policy of "reform from within" is not an option, leaving the EU is the only way to remain an independent country. There will be no more EU treaties because no more treaties are needed - Lisbon is self-amending.

I only hope the Tories enjoy what little power will be left to national governments once Lisbon formally establishes the primacy of the EU government and that all those "eurosceptics" who put their party before their principles and voted for the LibLabCon can live with their consciences when President Bliar announces the loss of the UK's seat on the UN security council and the deployment of EU troops on our streets to supress dissent.

The only way to keep our independence is to leave the European Empire and the only way that's going to happen is with UKIP MPs in Westminster.

Poland signs Lisbon

The Polish president, Lech Kaczynski, has signed the EU not-a-constitution leaving only the Czech president, Vaclav Klaus, holding back the European Empire.

Czech Senators have lodged a legal challenge with the Czech constitutional court which should take up to 6 months but the eurofederalist Czech government is promising to fast track the case through the courts. Klaus is now saying that he won't sign the Lisbon Treaty until it is amended to exempt the Czech Republic from the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.

It never ceases to amaze me how these Eastern European countries, who fought so hard to free themselves from the old Soviet Republic, are so willing to voluntarily enter into a new one.

It is unlikely that Klaus will be able to hold out intil the next election where the Tories will realistically have no choice but to hold the promised referendum. Whilst the EU not-a-constitution is pretty disasterous for our country, we should at least take heart in the fact that the Tories will be shown for what they are - useless eurofederalists who will do nothing to protect us from the European Empire - and people will flock to UKIP as the only party that will free us from European imperialism.

Klaus insists on amendments to Lisbon Treaty before ratification

Open Europe reports that Klaus seeks an amendment to the Lisbon Treaty  (a leader in the Economist describes the Lisbon Treaty as "deeply shabby"). with regard to the Charter of Fundamental Rights, which angers EU politicos as he will not specify the amendments he seeks. Presumably, he's playing his cards close to his chest so that the politicos cannot rubbish his bid or counter it with its usual obfuscations, half-truths, outright lies and cannot therefore discredit him.

Open Europe sums it up, thus:

The Times reports that Czech President Vaclav Klaus has demanded an amendment to the Lisbon Treaty, which could pose a further delay to ratification. Klaus is seeking unspecified guarantees on the Charter of Fundamental Rights - the declaration being incorporated into EU law by the Treaty.

Polish daily Rzeczpospolita quotes a Czech source saying, "We have expertise, which shows that in accordance with the Charter it will be possible to reclaim property rights in Czech Republic. We cannot allow judges from Malta or Spain, who know nothing about our history, to decide whether Sudeten Germans have right to their property."

The article notes that Klaus' move has sparked anger in other EU capitals, with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner saying, "We are not going to change the Lisbon treaty. It has been approved by the Czech parliament and by the Czech senate in the precise terms in which everybody has accepted it." Swedish Prime Minister and holder of the EU Presidency Fredrik Reinfeldt said, "I spoke by phone today with President Klaus. I told him this is the wrong message at the wrong time for the EU. I told him clearly it is his ink on the paper that counts, and I do not want this to delay the treaty going through as soon as possible." The Independent quotes Reinfeldt saying, "We need clarification on exactly what he is asking for...As I understand, it's linked to the Charter of Fundamental Rights. It's a footnote, but he didn't define it."

Meanwhile, after a series of contradictory statements over Polish plans to sign the Treaty, several newspapers report that the Polish President Lech Kaczynski will sign it this Saturday. The Polish President's Chief of Staff, Wladyslaw Stasiak, made the announcement on TVN24 yesterday: "The president will sign the treaty on Saturday at noon".

And if you think the EU is really concerned about "climate change", then why is it colluding with the logging industry to downgrade the protection of rain forests - which, after all, absorbs C0₂?

The Irish Times reports that the EU has been accused of changing the text of the current REDD (Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation) agreement after lobbying from the logging industry. This means "[...] that the industry could continue logging old forests, accelerating climate change", said Greenpeace's forest policy expert, Grant Rosoman.

Irish ‘bullied’ into voting Yes

The Eastern Counties MEP for the UK Independence Party, David Campbell Bannerman has described the result of the Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty as: “A triumph for political bullying” and a “dark day for democracy.”

Mr Campbell Bannerman, who is also UKIP’s Deputy Leader said: “The fact is, this referendum should never have been held at all. The Irish people voted NO last year and that should have been an end to it. Unfortunately, the political system under which we now live does not allow dissent and if you give the ‘wrong’ answer, you must vote again.

“To ensure the result they wanted, the political establishment has pulled out all the stops. Any rules about balanced media coverage were suspended and the European Commission broke its own rules by spending €1.2 million on a huge advertising campaign. Any number of Commissioners, including its President, have been to Ireland to campaign for a YES vote. In contrast, anyone who dared speak out against the Lisbon Treaty was immediately vilified.

“The Irish people have been bullied into making this huge mistake, which may ultimately mean that the EU no longer ever need to consult voters in any member country, because the Lisbon Treaty is self-amending. It really is a dark day for democracy. However, this is not the end of the story. There is nothing more precious than our basic freedoms, which are being undermined by the EU. We can never give up this fight, so the battle will go on.”

Nikki Sinclaire: Today we lost a battle on a foreign field but the war is far from lost

The following press release has been issued by Nikki Sinclaire MEP today:

It is with great disappointment that I learn of the ‘Yes’ result in the second Irish Referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

There can be no doubt that the true democratic process has been subverted with lies, clear deception and veiled threats.

The Treaty passed today is exactly the same as the Treaty rejected by the Irish people last June. Certain guarantees have been given but hold no water legally.

The Irish ‘NO’ was not respected by the EU and the staggering difference today lies in the economic scare mongering by the Irish political elite at the behest of their EU masters. The Lisbon Treaty will not help the beleaguered Irish economy yet many Irish citizens believed the veiled threats with memories of the ‘good times’ when they were heavy net benefactors of the EU. Those times will never come back to Ireland. The Irish people clearly could see that when they rejected the Nice Treaty (that allowed the enlargement of the EU into Eastern Europe). They were given guarantees told to vote again then the guarentees were subsequently discarded, mass immigration ensued that has changed Ireland with most EU subsidy now resting in Eastern Europe.

I am proud that along with all my UKIP MEP colleagues we donated approximately £10,000 each to the ‘No’ campaign out of our communication budget. This paid for a leaflet to every household in Ireland.

Unlike the EU, I have respect for the Irish people and their decision.

We must however concentrate on our own efforts to fight this Treaty and continued EU membership. We cannot afford to hope that we will be saved by a foreign country or by some magical legal loophole. This country was not build on dreams.

We must take the fight to the political elite at every opportunity. Each one of us must ask ‘what can I do to save my country?’ Every leaflet we deliver, every letter we write to a newspaper, every chance we have to raise the subject we must seize. Only the British people can save Britain.

We cannot rely either on the Lib Lab Con who have failed to respect and represent the views of the electorate. No one under the age of 53 has ever been asked their views on the EU, those over 53 were blatantly lied to by the same political skulduggery that influenced the result today.
